(Riley's POV)
"Sissy!" Bryce exclaims when I go to pick him up. "Can we go to the park later? Pretty, pretty please!" he begs.
"We'll see, baby, let's go," I say, taking his hand and leading him to the car.
"Sammie, tell Riley you wanna go to the park later!" Bryce says to Sam when we get home.
"Let Sam finish her homework then we can go," I tell Bryce.
~
"Sammie, hurry up! I wanna play on the playground!" Bryce says happily, now that we're at the park.
He starts to run for the playground. "Bryce, wait!" I call after him. He doesn't stop running. "Bryce," I mutter, starting to run after him.
"Bryce!" I call again. I look up and see Hunter. He scoops Bryce up and looks at me.
"So we meet for the third time today, Riley Ann. It must be fate," he says with a smile.
"You know, Hunter, I'm starting to wonder if you're doing this on purpose," I laugh.
"Maybe this time. I kinda figured you'd come back at some point," he says, flashing that smile.
"Sissy, do you know him?" Bryce asks, looking at Hunter.
"Yes, I do, baby," I say, taking him from Hunter. "This is my friend, Hunter."
"Hi, Hunter, I'm Bryce."
"It is very nice to meet you, Bryce," says Hunter, shaking Bryce's little hand.
"Bryce, go play," I say, putting the little boy down. He happily runs over to the playground and starts swinging.
"He's precious," Hunter says, making my attention go back to the boy standing before me. I nod in agreement. "I think that since it's the third time I've run into you, it's time to get your number."
"I agree, Hunter," I laugh. I give him my number and he slips his phone back into his pocket.
"Now that I have your number, Riley Ann, I think I'm allowed to ask," he pauses, his eyes meeting mine, "would you like to go out sometime?"
I smile at him. "I'd love to," I say.
"Thank God. I thought you were going to say no," he laughs, a sparkle appearing in his blue eyes.
"I just gave you my number, did you really expect me to turn down a date with you?" I laugh at him. He shrugs.
"Do you wanna come over later?" I ask.
"How about I take you to dinner first, Riley Ann," he suggests. A smile grows on his face once again.
"That'd be nice," I say, returning his smile.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow at seven?" he says.
"Okay," I smile. "Hey, I gotta go, but I'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay, Riley Ann. I'll see you then," he says, disappointment and excitement in his eyes. He reaches his hand out and I take it, giving it a little shake and letting out a small laugh. I wave before turning around and going back to Bryce.
(Hunter's POV)
I've only met her, and I think I'm in love with her.
