(Riley's POV)
Three weeks later, and I'm about to board a plane to Australia. The flight doesn't take off until eleven, and it's ten thirty right now. I decide call Hunter, to let him know I'm going to board soon. He answers right away.
"Hey." I know he's smiling.
"Hey." I smile too, not even caring that he can't see me. "I'm boarding soon."
"That's great."
We talk about nothing at all until I have to get on the plane. At one point, he says, "You don't like flying, do you?"
"No, I don't, really. But I'm coming to see you, so that makes up for it." I laugh a little. "Hey, we're boarding. I'll talk to you later."
"Okay, I'll see you soon, Riley Ann. I'll be waiting. I love you."
"Alright. I love you, too, Hunter." I hang up the phone, and slip it into my pocket. Grabbing my one bag, I get on the plane. I find my seat, and sit by the window.
"Oh, hello, dear," an elderly woman says, sitting by me. I smile at her.
I sleep for most of the flight, the rest I'm just looking forward to seeing Hunter. I don't talk to the woman next to me much, but I talk to her enough to find out that her name is Rose and she's going to Australia to visit old friends. "Why are you going?" She asks.
"To see my boyfriend. He's home with family, and isn't coming home for another month. He wanted me there with him." I smile.
"Oh, young love," she says, a happy look on her face. "I married my high school sweetheart." She smiles. "Do you have a picture of this boy?"
I show her my lock screen, which is a picture of me on Hunter's back. Rose smiles even wider. "He's handsome."
I nod. "Yeah, yeah he is," I say, laughing a little.
The plane lands about an hour later. We get off the plane, and I get my bag. I find Hunter immediately. He wrote "Riley Ann" on a piece of paper, and he holds it in front of him with that crooked smile on his face. I shake my head, and run to him. He wraps his arms around my waist, lifting me off the ground.
"I missed you so much," he mumbles, his face now buried in my neck. I smile, and hug him closer to me. "You ready?" He asks, pulling away, just to wrap his arm around my waist and pull me to his side. I nod, resting my head on his shoulder as we walk.
Before I know it, we're at his Hunter's house. "They're gonna like right? They won't hate me?" I ask him nervously.
He helps me out of the car. "They will love you. I promise you." He kisses the tip of my nose, then his lips meet mine. The kiss is sweet and needy. He smiles into the kiss, then runs his fingers through my hair. Hunter finally pulls away, his fingers still in my hair. He gives me a reassuring smile, and leads me inside.
"You're shaking." He laughs. I press my hands to my thighs so it isn't as noticeable. Hunter stops me in the foyer and takes me by the shoulders. He looks me in the eye; I do my best not to get lost in his eyes as he talks to me. "Calm down. It's just my family. I love you, so they will too. I promise. I wasn't nervous when I met your mom."
"Because you're a people person. People like you. I'm not. I'm awkward and people tend to not like me," I mutter.
He shakes his head, and kisses me again. "But I like you. You aren't awkward around me." I give him a look when he says that. He laughs a little. "Okay, fine, maybe a little, but you'll be fine. They'll love you." I nod.
He leads me to the living room, where his whole family sits. The woman, who I presume is his mother, stands. "You must be Riley. Hunter hasn't shut up about you," she says with a smile. She squeezes the top of my arm, and I flinch a little, not enough for her to notice. I laugh a little, then look up at Hunter. He wraps an arm around me and rubs my arm where his mom squeezed it. He smiles a little, and introduces me to his family.
