I ran, ok that's a lie, I walked as fast as I could all the way to Harlem. Harlem has never been my favorite part of New York. In fact, it's only a bit better then Brooklyn to me, and only because Spot doesn't live there. Gosh that kid is cocky.

I'm getting off track. I walk to Harlem in record time, faster then I probably needed to. "Hey, Sam. Haven't seen you around much!" Tiger yells from a roof before quickly climbing down.

"Hey Tiger. Good to see your still alive," I say before spitting in my hand and holding out to him.

He spits in his own and takes it. "And still going strong. So, what brings you to my neck of the woods?"

"I have an invitation for a girl who lives here. Cat. Do you mind telling me where she is?"

"Look Sam, I wish I could help you, but she's busy," Tiger explains.

I roll my eyes. "With what?"

"Last I checked she with with her newest guy. I think it's a newsie from your turf."

"Race," I mumble under my breath.

"That would be the one."

I look up at Tiger. "Tiger, please. I'm asking you as a friend to help me out."

Tiger takes in a deep breath. "She's inside."

I smile big. "Thanks buddy." I give him a hug before walking into the lodging house.

I walk in to find Cat sitting on Race's lap. She's wearing his cap and smiling as she runs her fingers through his hair. I clinch my hands into fists at my side. Why do I feel like this? I have Max. Why am I so jealous of Cat?

I cough to get her attention. "Excuse me. Am I interrupting something?"

Both of their heads turn towards me. I can see Race's eyes fill with anger and hurt. "You did in fact. Get out!"
he snapped.

"Last I checked you weren't the leader," I say crossing my arms.

"He isn't," Cat says standing up from Race's lap. "I am."

I smirk. "I've heard that you have power, but your not the leader."

She shrugs. "Same thing." She looks back at Race before smiling and sitting back on his lap and wrapping her arms around his neck. "Why don't you go back Manhattan. You still have more papers to sell anyways."

Race smirks. "I can't get up if you're on top of me."

"I can move Race."

"What if I don't want you too?" Race says before kissing her.

I clinch my hands into tight fists, digging my nails into my palms. I can't help but feel angry at the sight of him kissing Cat.

Cat pushes him away after a second and stands up, laughing a bit. "Come on Race. Get up. I have someone here who needs to talk to me."

Race sighs and stands up, but wraps his arms around Cats waist. "What about my hat?"

Cat glances up at the hat she is wearing before looking back at Race. "You'll get it back soon enough. Now go," she says before kissing him and pushing him out.

"So," Cat says walking back to the chair her and Race were sharing. "What's up?"

I take a deep breath, trying to get rid of any anger. "The newsies in Manhattan are getting together at Medda's. If Race hasn't already invited you, you're welcome to come. We are all going to be there."

Cat laughs a bit. "Are you asking me out."

Caught off guard, I say the first thing that comes to mind. "I have a boyfriend."

"Congratulations. So do I if you haven't noticed," Cat says smirking.

I force a smile. "Yeah. I saw. So will you come or not?"

Cat thinks for a second before standing up. "Sure. If Race is going to be there, I don't see why not."

"Great. It starts at seven. Don't be late," I say as I start to walk out.

"Tell Race I'll give him his hat back later tonight!" she calls after me.

I don't respond. I run as fast as I can to the roof top that Jack showed me when Ross and I first arrived. I climbed up the ladder as fast as I could, before curling into a ball in the corner and crying.
