(I am in a airport about to leave for Washington DC for a week. So, what better time to post a new update. Tell me what you all think!)
"That was a wonderful lunch." Max says as we walked down the street.
"Yah. It was good catching up with you. Ross and I have to head back to the lodging house. It's quite a walk from here" I reply.
"Let me walk you back. It is starting to get dark and I wouldn't want you to get hurt" Max says with a smile.
"Well, I guess you can. If you don't mind" I reply shyly.
By the time we got back to the lodge it was dark. It was a night with cloud in the sky. "Hey Ross, why don't you go inside. I'll be there soon." He nodded, gave me a hug and ran inside.
Max smiles. "He's a good kid."
"He should have better then this" I say as I start to tear up.
"You couldn't do anything to stop what happened from happening. Besides, you are doing a great job raising him."
"Thanks" I smiled as I wipe tears from my eyes. "That means a lot."
Max and I stop talking. His gaze switches from my eyes to my lips back to my eyes.
"Samantha" he says.
"Yes."
"There is something I wanted to tell you since the day I met you."
"What?"
"This." He suddenly grabs my waist and pulls my lips to his. At first I don't know what to do, but I quickly get more more comfortable. I grab the back of his neck and lean my head to deepen the kiss.
"We pull away from each other to catch our breath. "I love you Samantha. I have sense the day I met you" Max says.
"I...I love you too" I reply as I pull him in for another kiss. After a while, I pull away. "I have to go. Ross is waiting for me."
"Okay. Goodnight" Max says with a smile.
"Goodnight" I say as I give him one last small kiss and run inside.
