(Before the story let me just say I am so sorry for my absence. When I first started this story, I also started having some personal issues. After those got settled, I got busy with school and finals. The day school gets out, my pet died. But, I am back and, now that school is out, I am aiming to post more.)

"Wow. I can't believe it's really you" I say as I hug him.

"Yeah. I haven't seen you since you parents...well." We stood in silence for a while just smiling at each other.

When we were kids, Max and I were inseparable. We were more then best friends, we were family. When my parents died and Ross and I started working, we drifted apart.

"So. How have you been?" I say breaking the silence.

"Good" he replies with his head down. "What about you and Ross?"

"Times have been better, but we are doing ok."

"Speaking of the little guy, where is he?"

"He is just up the road selling the last of our papers."

"Cool. So you guys are newsies?"

"Yep. Not the best life, but it's ok."

We stood in silence and looked at the world around is until Ross ran up to me. "I sold the last paper Sam! Now I get to choose our selling spot tomorrow!" He stops yelling and looks at Max. "Who is he?" He asks hiding behind my legs.

"Ross, this is Max. He was a friend of mine a long time ago." I tell him.

"Is this Ross?" Max asks with a slight laugh. "Wow. You have really grown since I last saw you."

"How about we go get lunch at Tibby's?" I suggest to Max. "I'm starving and you and I need to catch up."

Max smiles. "Sure."

"Ross?" I ask. Ross, who is still hiding behind my legs, nods slightly. "Okay then. Let's go."
