Part 17: Surprise Surprise!

As Manik and Nandini left the party they walked towards the Parking lot.
"You wait here. I'll just bring my car. Okay?" He went ahead but Nandini held him back.

"Wait. Give me your keys!" Manik looked at her confusingly. "Why? What happened?" She rolled her eyes and puffed her cheeks. "Don't ask anything. Just give me the keys Manik!"

Manik eyed her warily before handing over the keys to her
"Argh! Fine. How can I deny my girl ha?" Her cheeks burned in astonishment as he slyly passed her a compliment. Seeing her flustered he chuckled lightly. "Looks like someone is blushing. You are too cute Nandini. Accha voh sab chodo and tell me now what's cooking in your mind. Where's my surprise?"

"OK Mr. Impatient Malhotra. Today you won't be driving. I have hired a chaffuer. He will drive us. Samjhe?" She replied sheepishly but his face lit up in amusement. "But whyyy? I really don't get you sometimes. I mean what's the need?"

"Because Manik today I want to make you feel special. And if you drive you will get tired. So how will enjoy the surprise I have planned with so much difficulty?
Manik's heart beamed with joy, hearing her concern. He pulled her into his embrace and left a long but soothing kiss on her forehead as a return gesture. "You're such a sweetheart. Toh ab chale? I can't wait anymore."

"Haa let's go!"

The chaffeur came in no time and drove them towards the destination. They were sitting in the backseat. Nandini had rested her head on his chest while Manik held her possessively. She could hear his heartbeat, which gave her an unknown peace. If she could, she would spend her entire lifetime just listening to it. Manik couldn't understand her calmness so he nudged her to speak "Nandini?"
"hmm?" She hummed softly against his heart. "Why are you so calm?" He peeked at her from beneath his eyelashes, curious to know the reason. "Because I'm listening to your heartbeat. Its so serene Manik."

He was amazed by her sudden revelation. All his life, he had met girls who used to throw themselves on him because of his looks and money. But it was the first time that, someone had loved the way his heart beats. "Oh aisa kya? Then I think we should stay like this all our lives. We can just stick ourselves so we wouldn't have to leave each other? What's say?" Nandini hit his arms lighlty while he chuckled sheepishly.
"HaHaHa! That's not at all funny!"
