Part 18: Never let you go

After experiencing one of the most beautiful night in their lives, Manik and Nandini couldn't stop thinking about each other. They had become more closer and comfortable in each other's presence. They wanted to spend each and every moment together if they could. But sometimes circumstances don't let you do things your way.

Manik and Nandini were spending some alone time on the terrace of their college after a hectic day. It had become their getaway place whenever they needed some moments away from the world. He was sitting, taking the support of the wall, with Nandini wrapped in his arms. It was one of those places where she always felt safe. They were looking over the beautiful skylines of Mumbai, enjoying the warmth of each other. Time had literally stopped for them.
"Nandini?"

They didn't speak much because their hearts understood each other, even in silence. The tranquility between them got disturbed because of Manik's phone. He would have cursed that person if he hadn't seen the caller ID on the right time. He smiled brightly seeing 'Dad' flash on his mobile screen. He didn't wait even a second to pick up the call. "Hey dad! How are you? Is everything all right? I miss you a lot.

Nandini felt happy seeing his man child sharing such an adorable bond with his father. But she got tensed when she saw his smile turn into a frown.

"Dad is it it that important?"
" Yes. Okay. If you say so. No problem Dad. Anything for you. I'll see you soon. Bye take care."

As soon as Manik ended the call he looked at Nandini who had question mark written all over her face. She somewhere knew it was something she dreaded.

"Nandini I don't know how to tell you this. Please don't be upset."
