Part 12: Let The World Know

Relationships are always stronger when you are best friends first,and a couple second.

It was a new day and a start of something beautiful. Nandini and Manik had finally given up on hiding their feelings. They were clear about their emotions and wanted to give it a chance. But they were afraid of how their friends would react on their new found feelings. Manik had decided to pick Nandini up and obviously she was more than happy to go with him. Why would they leave any chance to be alone? ;)
Manik had parked his car outside her gates and was honking continuously as if his life depended on it. He had no patience at all and was dying to see her. After their memorable confession last night he couldn't stop thinking about her. He was now lost in her thoughts smiling like an idiot.
"Missed me?" Nandini was getting ready when she heard someone's non stop honking. She was damn irritated and decided to see who that idiot was. She walked to her window and when she saw it was Manik she couldn't help but smile. Nandini understood his eagerness as she herself was feeling the same. She hastily bid goodbye to her family and ran towards his car. She saw him smiling and blushing. How can someone look so cute she thought to herself.
"Finally. You're here. Madam kitna time lagati ho? You know how eager I was to see you?" He bit his lower lip when he realized what he had said while she blushed profusely. "Umm I'm sorry. I slept in late na so.. Anyway let's go nahi toh aur late ho jayenge." Nandini replied trying to change the awkward situation. He just smiled and started to drive. They were silent throughout the ride,just stealing glances of each other every now and then. Finally they reached college. Manik got off first and like a gentleman opened her side's door. He forwarded his hands to her and she without giving it a thought held it. Everyone in the college were shocked to see them together,holding hands. They had now become the gossip of the day. The girls were literally throwing daggers at Nandini. Afterall she was with the most demanding and hot hunk of their college. She felt their strong gaze and became a bit concious. Manik noticed it. It was the last thing he wanted. "Nandu you don't have to worry about them. They are just jealous of us. We are together and nobody can change that. You're mine and I'm yours and that is what matters the most." He spoke with so much of love that she forgot all her worries and doubts. She found herself very lucky to have a guy like him buy her side. A guy who could understand her thoughts even before she expressed it. "Thank you Manik. I'm fine now. Let's go?" They went inside, hand in hand not giving a fuck about the world. But,they were stopped on their way by a group of 5 people. Few were confused and few were amused. They quickly left their entwined hands seeing their friends. They all wanted answers and MaNan were in a fit now. Cabir as usual couldn't leave a chance to tease them. After all he was their cupid.
Cabir: "Areyy kyu haath kyu choda? Pakde rehete na! Hume kya hum toh aankh band kar lenge! Continue please."
Manik and Nandini were hell of embarrassed now. As if Cabir was not enough Multi joined in too.
Mukti: "Exactly! No worries. Because you both didn't find it important to tell us anything. Its fine we'll leave. You continue."
Navya: "Nandu tumne hume bhi kuch bataya nahi. Yeh tumne accha nahi kiya."
Dhruv: "Buddy what yaar I thought I was your best friend. I'm upset with you."
Everybody spoke one by one showing their fake disappointment. But Alya was quite throughout as Manik had told her about Nandini. She was finding it difficult to control her laugh because she knew this was just a drama. But our sweet soul Nandini took it too seriously. Tears had welled up in her eyes seeing them so disappointed. Fab 4 and Navya got tensed now and decided to end it.
"Areee nandu tum ro kyu rahi ho? Hum toh bass mazak kar rahe the. Hume maaf kar do." Navya rushed to her as she couldn't see her bestie in tears. Before anyone else could explain Manik's anger rose to the seventh sky because obviously his girl was in tears. "What the hell guys? You made her cry. This was not funny at all!" He shouted at all of them while consoling Nandini. He kissed her forehead ensuring that it was all fine. She stopped crying as she didn't want him to be angry and scold his friends. Fab 4 were really scared as they knew Manik's temper very well. Nandini noticed this and gestured Manik to speak to them nicely. And how could Majnu deny her. "Umm I'm sorry guys. I lost my temper. We want to tell you all something let's go to the jam room." Fab 4 were totally amazed how Nandini controlled the monster inside him. They all were very happy for their best friend. He has always protected them like a big brother. Now there was some one who could protect him.
