Chapter 54

Lindsey pov
"What the hell happened?" Lily said she ran up to one of the fire fighters. "Excuse me what happened here?" She asked.

"There was a fire it was caused by the stove in the kitchen" he said collecting the water hose.

"Well who left the burner on?" She said. I was still sitting on the back of the medical truck still breathing through a breathing tube. Everyone gathered around Lily.

"I did it, I left the stove on and I put Sam in danger, you should never trust me again" I said.

"Oh my god Lindsey are you okay" she said looking at my breathing tube. "Of course I trust you!" She said giving me a side hug. "Lily you don't under stand we all almost died in their" I said.

"Lindsey all I care about right now is that you guys are okay" she said and I smiled. Alex sat next to me "you okay?" "Yeah I'm fine" I said.

The firemen and the medical people left and the kitchen and the stairs were burned. I had already called someone to repair it and they had already started working on it.

It was late and the workers had just put a sheet to cover the kitchen and they already laid down new wood on the stairs. It was about to rain and everyone went outside under the covered patio.

Then it started to pour but no one went inside. Alex grabbed my hand, and lead me out into the rain. I smiled as the rain hit my skin, I held up my hands feeling the rain. By hair was wet and Alex gave me his jacket. He took my had and his skin rushed through my skin making me shiver. He pulled me close and twirled me and we started to dance.

I was laughing and smiling as he twirled me into his arms. Everyone else was watching in awe like they were watching a romance movie. Maybe being a mermaid was a good thing. We were still dancing and then he pulled me in and our noses met. We caught our breathe and then Alex leaned in and kissed me, it was a warm kiss and it rushed through my blood.

Later everyone went to bed and I changed into one of Alex's t shirts that went just below my butt. Alex was already in bed waiting for me.

I jumped into bed with his and he started to kiss me. He pulled away and wrapped his arms around me as I turned off the light next to me. I started to dream about Alex and then sleep took a hold of my dreams and I drifted asleep.
