Chapter 16

Lindsey's pov

I woke up in my bed with the light from my open windows streaming in. I got up and walked into the kitchen, there was a note on the counter. It read "I'm working late don't forget you have school dinner is in the fridge XOXO Love MOM." I forgot that I had school, I pulled out my phone and checked the time. It was 9:33 and I had way to many notifications to count. School started at 9:00 "crap" I said. Well I will just be late I mean give me a break I just came back from being dead for 2 hours and I'm worn out.

I walked into my bedroom and into to my connecting bathroom. I brushed my teeth and brushed my hair. I got out of the bathroom and I looked at my room, my room had teal walls it had cool lace curtains on the door that lead to my little deck, a small white 4 poster bed, a bedside table, dresser, Aquas dresser, and my desk.

 I really didn't have room for Aqua but I have to let her stay here. My room was a mess there were clothes all over the room most were mine but the others were Aquas. I started to pick up all my clothes and hang them up in my walk in closet. I folded Aquas and laid them on her mattress. Then I made both beds. I started to walk out of the room to get some breakfast. But I stopped and got an idea, I walked into the sewing room.

 The room was about the same size as mine mostly because they are next to each other. I thought that I should give Aqua her own room if she is going to be staying here a while. Yesterday Aqua told her parents that she was going to live on land for a while. I quickly called my mom and asked her if I could do that for Aqua she said yes and did not ask about school even though I was an hour late.

I got on my computer I searched up cheap beds so I could fix one up for her. Eventually I found a guy that had a cool bed it had a gray fabric backboard and it would defiantly match the creme color on the walls. The guy came to my house and I paid him honestly he let it go for a really low price. 

He also helped me move the bed into the room on the main wall. I thanked him and then he left. I moved all the sewing things out of the room and into the attic and while I was in there I found a cool bedside table that would match the bed. I brought it down and set it beside the bed. I really need some decor. So I changed and put on a light coat of makeup on grabbed my keys, wallet, and my phone and drove away in my red Mini Cooper. I drove to target.

I got a lot of cool things for Aqua including a aqua bedspread, cool lamps, things for her desk, ect. I drove back home and lugged all the items into the bedroom. First I put the bedspread on. Then I put all her clothes in her close. I put all her makeup on her dresser and put out all the decor. 

Finally I had to set up the desk by now it was 12:30. I was sorting through some books and my phone rang it was Aqua. I put her on speaker phone. "Hey where have you been" "uh yeah sorry I slept in and got distracted" I said "oh are you coming back" I was searching through the pile of books and something fell out of the book I picked it up and read it. It was letter to Aqua from her parents, "Aqua how is the plan going you have until the next full moon to get rid of her powers, we trust you, Love mom and dad."

 "Hello Lindsey" "oh um yeah I will definitely be there" I shoved the note into my pocket and hung up. I quickly fixed up Aqua desk and picked up my bedroom not showing any emotion. I looked at Aqua bedroom it looked really cute it looked like a professional did it( pic above). I grabbed my backpack my keys and my phone and headed to school.

When I got there I raced down the hallway not noticing principle Jennings standing out in the hallway with a student. "Um Lindsey come back here you know for a fact we don't run in the halls" I turned around and sadly walked to her office. I was always getting in trouble. I walked in and sat in a chair next to a girl I have never seen before.

 "Just a minute Lindsey" she said as going back to business with the girl. I took off my sunglasses from my head and quickly braided a messy braid with my long dirty blonde hair. "Ok Lindsey it's nice of you to show up I am not going to ask you know the rules so this time I am going to give you something different than detention I need you to show Serena around, she is new here." I looked at Serena she was pretty with Brown hair in a messy bun. "Ok" I said glumly. I walked out of the room with Serena.

After I showed Serena around I took her to her next class witch was science. "Alright there you go, I'll see you around" "yeah and thank you". After she went into the science room i thought to myself she is different but I don't know how.

The bell rang and Aqua came out into the hall "Hey Lindsey nice of you to show up" she said I laughed nervously. "Can I talk to you, somewhere private." I said pulling her into the girls bathroom. I pulled the crumpled up note out of my pocket I held it up for her. "What is this?" I asked her. She looked at me "Where did you get that" "doesn't matters what does matter is that you betrayed me you were trying to take my powers away from me." I said.

 "Look okay I know it's just, remember when we meet I told my parents that you were a land girl and you had a tail no one alive has ever been on land and had a tail so they thought you were dangerous I tried to tell them that you weren't dangerous but they wouldn't listen, they told me to go on land with you and take away your powers and their plan worked out perfectly because of the war, I tried to take them away but I couldn't because you were my friend. I didn't know what to do so yesterday I told my parents that I wasn't going to continue with the plan and I told them that I was going to live on land for a while, I am so sorry I lied and I'm sorry I didn't tell you." I sighed "I guess I forgive now that I've heard what you said" I said as I smiled and pulled Aqua into a hug.

We walked out of the bathroom and I saw Serena trying to find her class. I walked over to her "Hey Serena" "hi" she said "this is my friend Aqua" I said "hi so where are you from" Aqua said. "Im from Hawaii "omg I love Hawaii there are so many cool mer-" said Aqua I coughed "uh i mean fish there are a lot of cool fish" she said scratching her head. 

"Yeah there are" Serena said "so do you need help getting to a class" I asked Serena "yes please" oh you have math if you go down this hallway it's on your right" "thank you so much" I smiled. I looked at Aqua "sorry but there are I've been there 3 times there is 10 different pods of mermaids." said Aqua "wow" "I know we should go there one day" said Aqua. Then the bell rang people ran to class.

After school I took Aqua home "I have a surprise for you" I said walking up to the door of Aquas new room. "What is it" she said excitedly. "okay you ready" I said she nodded her head. I opened the door. She screamed so loud I thought I would have gone blind. "OMG OMG!!! Lindsey you did this for me?!" "Just for you" I said. She ran to the bed and laid on it. "This is what you were doing" "Yup" I said. She ran over to the desk, pulled out the chair and sat down. She got up"Lindsey I love it thank you so much." "your welcome".

Later I needed a swim I went down to the beach and jumped into the water. I swam around all the corals and enjoyed myself. But while I was swimming I saw a girl swimming too and she looked sort of familiar I swam up to her and she turned around, it was Serena "you're a mermaid."

Ooo getting really good don't worry the next chapter will be amazing sorry for the boring beginning I couldn't think of anything else then in the middle of the story I thought of adding a new mermaid will she be good? Or will she be bad?.Read Story Book Island by my bestie stasiaTasia
