Chapter 8

Aphmau pov:
I watched as Garroth got a sword held up to his neck by Zenix. He looked at me and gave me an evil grin.
"Well hello Aphmau."
"What are you doing here?"
"Oh, I've come to kill the one you care for most."
I looked down at Garroth and he mouthed the word run. I shook my head no. I then kicked Zenix in the head. He fell to the ground. I grabbed Garroth by the hand and we ran.

When we finally made it to Garroth's house we stopped running. I took a deep breath.
"Why didn't you just leave me behind, you could have gotten hurt."
"And you could've died if I didn't kick him, and Garroth I can't lose you."
"But Aphmau I'm mad cause you didn't listen to me. I don't care if I died."
I started to tear up. I ran up the stairs and went to the bedroom. I immediately locked the door behind me.

Garroth pov:
I ran up the stairs and tried to open the door but it was locked.
"Aphmau please talk to me, I'm not mad at you!"
All I heard was crying from coming inside the room. I knocked on the door but there was still no answer. I sat down against the door and waited for her to open it.

After 20 minutes or so, I finally heard the door slowly starting to open. I quickly got up and saw Aphmau come out. She had bloodshot eyes.
"Garroth I need to know if you think I'm strong."
"I think your strong, beautiful, smart and a brave young woman."
"Then why don't you think I'm strong enough to make my own choices?"
"Aphmau I'm sorry for saying those things, it's just I care about you to much to let you die!"
"I know you do."
She hugged me and I hugged her back.

I heard the door open from down stairs. I looked at Aphmau and she looked concerned. I slowly went downstairs with my sword in my hand. When I got down the steps little Levin runs up to me and hugs me. I picked him up and spun him around.
"Hey buddy, were you good for aunt Zoey?"
"He was amazing today. He's becoming quite a strong little boy."
Aphmau made her way down the stairs.
"I wonder where he gets that from."
I smiled at Aphmau and she smiled back at Levin and I.

Levin, Aphmau and I went down to the plaza to see what everyone was doing. When we got down, Dale came up to me and he smelled like root beer.
"Hi best friend (hick)."
I looked at Aphmau and she was giggling. I walked away and went up to Laurance and waved.
"Hey, are you and Katelyn okay?"
"Ya we're fine now. At least I think we are."
"Why don't you just ask her?"
"Cause I don't want to..."
"No you're scared, you're scared of your own girlfriend."
I started laughing. Laurance kicked me in the shin.
"Shut up. People are starting to stare."
I looked around and he was right. Everyone was staring at me. I looked at Laurence and he gave me a smirk. I ran off and went up the path to the house. I opened the door and plopped myself on the couch. I heard the door open. I looked up to see Aphmau holding little Levin.
"Why did you run off?"
"I guess I was just embarrassed."
"I thought your laugh was adorable Garroth."
I looked at her and she giggled. I got off the couch and started chasing Levin and Aphmau around the house.

I put Levin in his crib and kissed him on the forehead. I closed the bedroom door and walked down the stairs. When I got down stairs I saw Aphmau doing the dishes. I walked up behind her and put my arms around her waist.
"Hi beautiful."
"Hello."
"Do you wanna watch a movie?"
"Only if it's not a horror film."
"Fine. You get to choose then."
"Okay."

After we were done our movie we went up to bed and went to sleep.
I woke up hearing a strange sound coming from downstairs. I got up and went to go investigate what the sound was. I finally got down to the bottom of the steps when I see a shadow figure jump out at me...
