I woke up to the smell of bacon. I put my uniform on and got ready for work. Then I ate bacon and pancakes with pickles and ketchup.
I still haven't enrolled in school. Today I'm going to sort that out and hopefully everything will transfer and I'll have school tomorrow with Kota and Rani.
"Shit!" I screamed as I finished my breakfast.
"What's wrong?" Chelsea asked.
"I had a doctors appointment scheduled for yesterday in Texas. I was supposed to go with Ryder to the doctors. We were supposed to get a check up on Viviana-or-Valentina-slash-Lucca-or-Giovanni—"
"Wait what?" Chelsea interrupted. "You picked names already?" She asked.
"Yeah. Viviana or Valentina for a girl and Lucca or Giovanni for a boy. I wanted the name to be Italian since I'm full-blooded Italian." I answered.
"I'll call the best doctor I know. You have to go to work or you'll be late." She responded grabbing her cell and making a call.
I rushed out of the door and down to the monitoring room.
"Hey Andy. Josh." I greeted. "What are you guys doing back here? Shouldn't you be at the front desk?" I asked.
"Yeah, actually, Andy is going back out there now. I'll be back here with you today, Jada." Josh replied.
"Yeah. I was just checking on him." Andy said before leaving.
"So when's your shift end?" I asked in hopes it would be soon.
"Nine." He answered.
Phew! Only two awkward hours.
"Nine tonight." He finished.
Shit.
"Oh that sucks. I work 14 hours today too. 7am—9pm too." I answered.
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Maybe I'll have a chance to change my perspective on Josh. He said he's had a crush on me for the past five years. I should have known he liked me. During my sophomore year, right when I skipped freshman year, I knew almost nobody in my grade because all my friends were freshmen, and Josh was really nice to me. Then, he tricked me into going to a party. That's when I started drinking for the first time. Josh nearly convinced me to have sex with him but I was only 14 he was 17.
We just put that aside nowadays, but I can't exactly get over it. I distinctly remember making out in a bathroom of the party house. I don't remember much before that or after, but I do remember telling him I was a virgin and he wasn't worth my time.
We sat awkwardly for about an hour watching the monitors.
"I'm sorry I told you that you weren't worth my time." I randomly stated.
"What?" He asked.
"Two years ago, in that bathroom at the party, I told you you weren't worth my time." I responded.
"Jada, I was very drunk that night. I don't remember you saying that. I remember making out in the bathroom and I remember that I stayed at the party until I was sober at like 4 in the morning. I remember driving you home and your parents flipping out because it was 4am." He answered.
"Oh. I don't remember that because I know I was drinking the whole entire time. The day after the party Kota yelled at me because someone told him I drank for hours. It's not like I could remember. You don't remember trying to take my virginity?" I asked.
"What? No. I didn't. Did I?" He questioned.
I assured him he didn't. As I was looking at the monitor, I noticed suspicious activity on the 3rd floor. There was a man wearing a ski mask and dragging a large duffel bag. I immediately pressed the big red button and a security officer rushed in.
