Ryder and I hung around the treehouse for a little while. We kissed a few times, but nothing else really happened. We agreed that when we returned back home, we would pretend this never happened. I thought we were all adults here. Why can't we just accept that it happened and move on?
When we rode back, we said our goodbyes and I went home. When I arrived I realized something. Shit, I left my phone in the treehouse! Why do these things happen to me?
I raced out the door and was greeted by May.
"Oh, hi, May. I was looking for Ryder. Is he around?" I asked.
"Yeah, honey. His room is upstairs on the right."
I marched upstairs and into his room. Bad idea! Look away!
I covered my eyes, "I'm so sorry!" I turned to leave.
"Jada. It's okay. Please stay." His voice coaxed me to stay.
"Okay. Just tell me when I can uncover my eyes." I demanded.
"I'm already dressed." He noted.
I uncovered my eyes. "Liar!" I screeched.
He was sitting around naked. Why????? I opened my eyes so he would stop laughing at watching me squirm.
His body is incredible. Well, at least his abs were. I tried not to look any farther down. We all know how that turned out.
"Would you put some clothes on? I left my phone at the treehouse and we have to go get it." I said slightly annoyed.
Ryder walked passed me and shut his door. He's not going to rape me, is he?
He stood in front of me and whispered, "I need you."
What the fuck? Ryder placed his hand on my face, then his lips followed. He trailed them down my neck and I stopped him once again.
"I've literally known you since Wednesday. It's Friday." I leaned closer and whispered in his ear, "Maybe one day you'll convince me."
I nibbled on his ear and he kissed my neck again. I literally handed him clothes. Instead, he asked me to put them on him. Fine. If you want to play that game then I'll play. I seductively pulled his boxers on being sure to come extra close. Then I pulled his shirt on again extremely close to him. Once he was dressed, we headed to the horse stalls.
We arrived at the treehouse and I couldn't find my phone. We both checked under the couch and he smacked his head. For once it wasn't me to get hurt. I came up and I held his head. He's bleeding.
Immediately I administered first aid. Having him lay down on the couch was the hardest part. He didn't want to lay down. I kneeled beside the couch and took care of his wound.
"You don't have to do this, Jada. I'm fine."
I forced him to stay lying down. Yeah, well, then he told me he was dizzy. I devised a plan to get both horses back and take Ryder on the same horse as me without taking two trips. I quickly put the horses away and tried to find someone to take him to the hospital. There literally was nobody around.
On my fridge was a note from my dad. He said he went to dinner with the Huntleys outside of town. Literally, I have the worst luck ever. Looks like I'm driving.
I helped him into the car and I drove as fast as I could. He wouldn't stop bleeding. The ER took care of him and he only had a mild concussion, but there's a pretty big gash on his head. The doctor gave me instructions about the next few days and how to take care of him. When Ryder was released, I drove back home.
On the way there, Ryder stated, "Wait a minute, I thought you didn't have a license."
Now he remembers. Ugh.
"I don't. I've never driven in my life."
And there you have it, folks. The secret is out. There's no need for me to drive in New York, so I never bothered to get my driver's license. Ryder was extremely worked up.
"I can't believe you would drive even though you don't know how! You could have killed us! You know that? We could be dead on your account!" He rambled on and on. Then he began yelling and swearing.
"Shh. Calm down sweetie, you're going to hurt yourself. Doesn't your head hurt?" I calmed him down.
"Yeah, it does." He added, "Real bad."
He rested his head on my shoulder. He's so precious when he's in pain. An hour later, when we finally arrived home, our parents were furious. I can't say I blame them. Once I explained everything (minus the dressing-the-boy part) and immediately they began to understand. I've been grounded for a month though because I drove illegally.
I helped Ryder up the stairs. He still complained of dizziness. We led his parents to believe he changed into PJs when I was "in the bathroom." We all know he was milking it out to get my attention. When I covered him up, I kissed his forehead. I turned to leave.
"No." He muttered. "Don't leave me, Jada. Please stay here. Stay with me."
He grabbed my hand and pulled me into him. I sat on his bed and explained how I had to go home and sleep. He begged me for a kiss so I kissed him, and then he said something about how I was "free to go." Damn, right I'm free to go. I always was.
2:37 am. My head hit the pillow and I was down for the count.
