I woke up this morning to a tray of food held by my boyfriend.
"Merry Christmas, Doll." He greeted.
"Merry Christmas." I replied as he sat on the bed beside me.
I looked at him. He knows what I want.
"Well what are you waiting for? Kiss me dammit!" I demanded with a smile.
He gladly kissed me. I glanced at my plate and realized there were pickles on it.
"I appreciate the pickles, but I've moved on from that. I'll eat the pancakes and sausage but can I have popcorn?" I questioned.
"Your dad doesn't have any popcorn." He answered.
I pouted until he agreed to make a special trip to the gas station. He's the best considering its 5am.
I quickly ate to pack and get ready. When I was finished, I ran downstairs to wish my dad a Merry Christmas and I noticed all of my bags were packed and ready to go to the car.
"What's this?" I asked pointing at them.
"Ryder. He's been up since three packing your things, making you breakfast, and making sure your presents were perfectly wrapped and placed." My dad explained while making himself some food.
"Oh my." I smiled at the thought.
Man, I love him.
When he returned, I thanked him for everything and I curled my hair and did my make up. I chose a red sweater dress with black tights and black booties. Then I ate my popcorn and ran over to the Christmas tree to open my gifts.
I opened every present quickly in a time frame of four minutes. It was nearly time to leave and go to the airport. I wished the Huntleys a Merry Christmas and said my goodbyes to Emily.
Ryder and I hopped in my dad's truck and we made our way to the airport. Once we arrived, they followed me until security.
"Merry Christmas Dad." I hugged him.
"Merry Christmas, love you, Munchkin." He responded.
"Love you too dad." I signaled to have a minute alone.
"Meet you in the car." He said to Ryder and walked off.
"So will I see you next month? For the gender reveal party?" I asked.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world." He answered grabbing my hips with both of his hands and pulling me close. "I love you, Jada." He kissed me.
"I love you too." I stated.
I had to go catch my flight. As I grabbed my suitcase and rolled it away, I took one last glance at him and I was hoping he was crying because I was about to. He wasn't though. Merry Christmas, Ryder.
Once we neared New York, the captain informed us that we couldn't land due to extreme weather in New York. Everyone groaned.
"Now what?" I asked aloud, but to myself.
"This is your captain speaking, due to the snow in New York, we will be turning around and landing in Philadelphia. Sorry for the inconvenience." Our captain explained.
Well that's just great. Philadelphia. Ugh. The plane landed and many people decided to wait for the next five hours for the plane to New York. I on the other hand, decided to take a bus to New York. The drive would only be about 2 hours. Three tops with traffic and weather. It's still better than 5 hours.
The bus was smelly and dirty. I took a nap and sprayed so much air freshener around me.
Before I knew it, I was home in New York. It was only about noon. I wanted to visit my poor grandma. She's all alone on Christmas, but the drive is two hours and it was really snowy and on top of that, I always go ice skating with Rani and Kota at exactly 4 pm on Christmas Day.
I decided to visit Grandma Cadwell. I dropped by my apartment to unload all of my things and presents and I explained to my friends how I'd have to miss ice skating this year to see my grandma.
Then I hailed a cab out to the Hampton Bays. The cab cost about 230 dollars just to get there. Once I arrived though, it was all worth it.
"Jada!" My grandma exclaimed.
Her expression was worth a million dollars. I didn't tell her I was coming.
I gave her a big hug and wished her a Merry Christmas. She invited me in.
"Why aren't you in Texas, honey?" She asked.
Then I realized she didn't know that I was living here, she didn't know about Ryder, and most importantly, she didn't know about the triplets.
I explained everything to her and she didn't judge me not one bit.
"I was pregnant with your father at 16 too, except he wasn't a cowboy—" She began.
"I know, I know. He was one of the Beatles." I answered.
Don't asked which one, she would never tell a soul because the media never found out about my dad and the only ones who know which Beatle it is, is my grandma, my dad, and himself. They married in secret, but it only lasted a few months because he had to travel the world and grandma couldn't keep up. She never did remarry. My dad ended up with the Cadwell name mostly because nobody could know who his father was, and because my grandmother barley knew the guy so she wanted her name in case they ever broke up.
Anyways, Christmas with her was amazing. She offered me a ride home from her chauffeur in the limo. I respectfully declined. So she offered me a ride in the Lexus, but she
insisted on her chauffeur driving because it was snowing. She tagged along for the ride.
"Love you grandma. Thanks for the ride, Louis. Merry Christmas to both of you." I said as I got out of the car at my apartment building.
I headed back up to my apartment after a long day of sitting in various transportations.
I put my gifts by my sad, little three foot tall tree and I collapsed on my bed. I didn't move a single inch until the next morning.
