I climbed back down from the tree and out of the woods.
"There she is!" Ryder screamed running towards me.
He picked me up and spun me around. I wasn't gone that long. Was I?
"Where the hell were you?" He asked clutching my shoulders. "Everyone was worried sick about you. What's the matter with you?"
"I'm sorry. I was just thinking. I didn't realize how long I was out there." I sincerely stated.
He kissed me and his dad whistled nonchalantly and turned to leave. I kissed him back still wanting what I wanted earlier. He broke away.
"After school tomorrow we are going to the mall." He said enthusiastically. "There are a few things I need to buy you."
"You don't need to get me anything, but I love shopping so I'm down for the mall."
I grabbed his hand and we walked back to our houses. He kissed me again. I did not expect the tongue. It wasn't the first time we French kissed, but this was so much better because I didn't initiate it.
I returned home and ate some dinner. Then I went to sleep. The next day I went to school. Yeah, yeah big deal. Then right after school, as promised, we went to the mall.
"How's your head?" I asked as we arrived at the mall.
"Much better." He replied.
He helped me out of the car and our fingers intertwined. He led me to a store and bought me flannel shirts, booty shorts for summer, ripped jeans, a few belts with big buckles, and cowboy boots. They weren't that bad. Actually, everything was extremely comfortable.
"Next up. Dress shopping." He noted.
"For what?" I laughed.
He didn't even answer. He forced me to go in. I tried on over 75 dresses.
When I was out of dresses, Ryder announced, "Grab the red one with the jewels on top."
"How did you know that was my favorite?" I questioned.
"The way you glow when you're wearing it." He answered smiling.
"You never told me why you're making me get a dress," I stated curiously.
"You'll see."
We purchased the dress and left the store. There was a band playing country music in the mall. I stopped to watch them. They're good!
"Wait here. I'll be right back." He told me.
I nodded as he walked away.
"Thank you!" The lead singer announced to the crowd. "Now we have a very special guest who wants to ask his girl something." He said with a familiar southern accent.
Aw, that's sweet. Wait. "Ryder?" I asked aloud.
"Jada, will you go to homecoming with me?" He asked in front of a crowd of fangirls and passerbys. He invited me up to the stage and handed me the microphone.
"Yes! I'd love to!" I screamed.
The crowd awed in unison. I blushed extremely when he kissed me. He planned this. That sneaky little rat. We stepped off of the stage after a fangirl took our picture. It didn't feel like I was just a senior in high school.
I'd never been asked to a dance like that. Well at all actually. I just always go with my friends. So this is a big deal for me. When we arrived at the car, he opened my door and I climbed up.
