I awoke to Ryder playing with my hair.
"Good mornin' baby."
"Good morning, Ryder," I responded.
I crawled out of bed and put my glasses on. I brushed my teeth and as I headed towards the closet, my dad knocked on my door.
"Jada? Are you awake?"
"Yeah, dad. I'm up."
We heard him leave and walk downstairs. I picked out an outfit.
"Aren't you going to get out of bed and go home anytime soon? You need to get ready for school." I stated.
"I texted my parents that I left early for my study group. We meet whenever we have a test. It also comes in handy for getting out of things." He explained.
"But you don't have anything to wear."
I stared at him as he pulled an outfit out of a bag.
"I packed in advanced. I figured I wouldn't be leaving last night." Ryder informed me.
"I don't know if I'm mad because you assumed that or if I'm proud because you thought of that."
I checked the clock and... Shit! I'm running late. I threw on a t-shirt and grabbed a pair of jeans. I felt Ryder's stare.
"Enjoying the view?" I asked before I turned around.
"Huh? What? No, I wasn't..." He awkwardly tried to change the subject. "What's for breakfast?"
"Mhmm. That's what I thought." I responded pulling my jeans on.
Already dressed for school, he sauntered over to me and backed me into the wall. With nowhere to go, he pinned my body with his and kissed me.
"Stop," I demanded and he stepped away. "You haven't brushed your teeth yet. It's disgusting." I added.
He chuckled and I walked into the bathroom and handed him a new toothbrush.
"Wait is that my dad?" I asked hearing a car pulling out of the driveway.
I glanced out my window and both of Ryder's family cars were still there. So it must be my dad. Oh right! He has a meeting this morning. Yes! I was wondering how I'd sneak Ryder out.
"My dad has a meeting this morning," I called to him from outside the bathroom. "So we can eat breakfast here," I added.
I began doing my hair and makeup. I was forced to rush so we wouldn't be late to school. Once my hair was curled and my make up was finished, and my contacts were in, I threw on a pair of boots and my big-buckled belt.
As we entered the kitchen I asked, "So you have a thing for staring at people, huh? I noticed you watching me do my hair and makeup."
He just smiled at me and ate his cereal.
"Sorry it's just cereal, I haven't mastered pancakes yet," I said.
"I don't mean to be rude, but ain't ya gonna make any friends at school? You haven't made any yet. I know it's only been two days since you've been in school, but you are way too amazing for these people not to know you."
"Aw, thank you." I blushed, grabbing his hand from across the table.
"Stick with me today. You'll make some friends." He invited.
I nodded in agreement. Once I was finished drinking my protein shake, Ryder was already waiting for me in the truck. I hurried out and insisted on opening the truck door myself so he didn't have to get out of the car.
