Trees surrounded me as I was being carried through a forest by a woman, her dark brown hair being blown by the wind, her blue eyes, wide with panic and submerged in tears. Shouting was heard not far from us.

"We're getting close" I heard a man say.

I couldn't move my head to see him, as I was bundled up tight against the woman. It wasn't long before the trees disappeared and we entered into a clearing.

"quick, open the portal!" the woman shouted.

I was able to turn my head slightly to see the man, pull a sword from his side and dig it into the ground, engraving a circle into the ground. The shouting was getting closer and the woman shouted for the man to hurry. He worked faster as he engraved some more patterns inside the circle. He stood at the edge and with the tip of his sword, sliced the middle of his hand and held it over the circle, not even a second later, a burst of light came from it before it dimmed and strong swirl of colours was in a dip in the ground, I could feel it trying to suck me in.

"Where will it send her?" The woman asked, the man came to stand with us, he looked at me with dark brown eyes and smiled, a stray tear slid down his cheek. He lifted his head to look at the woman before replying,

"Some place where they won't find her. She'll be fine, I promise, I spelled the portal to take her somewhere safe"

Suddenly everything happened so fast. A circle of people surrounded us.
"Give us the abomination!" someone bellowed.

"Never, you can't have our daughter!" the man shouted back.

I couldn't see what happened but I could hear what happened. Cling of metal collided with each other, one after the other. It wasn't long before there was a grunt, a drop of a body and the woman who held me began to scream.

"Get the girl!" an unknown voice sounded.

The woman began to run towards the portal, I started to wail and cry as I was so confused as to what was happening. Before the woman could reach the portal, something slammed into us, but before we could both tumble to the ground, I feel my small self being thrown into the air and the suction of the portal pulling me towards it. I heard a pain filled scream right before I disappear into-

I jolted awake with a gasp. I'm lying in my cosy double bed, perplexed about my dream. I've had that exact same dream for as long as I can remember. I can't figure out what it means. I've spoken to a psychologist about it and all they said was that, maybe because I was found as a baby, and that there are completely no records of my parents, so I know nothing about them, my subconscious has created this imagination of what happened to me to fill the blanks.

Oh sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, my name's Alexandria Johnson, but people just call me Alex. I'm a 17 year old girl who was adopted at the age of 0 because my parents didn't want me. I was only a week old when I was left outside of an orphanage. What kind of people do that to a baby? but whatever, I'm over it, sorta.

But thankfully I was given a home about a week after I was found, and it's this very home now that I woke up in. I love my parents, they'd been trying for ages to have a baby but it just wasn't happening, so they turned to adoption, and even then they weren't having any luck, until I came along, they always call me their saving grace. Grace is even my middle name as well. They're such a weird couple, but I love them. I turned over and saw that the time was 7 am and it was Friday, yes! Ah finally, it's nearly the weekend.
