Kiera
I needed to figure out a way to ditch this Neph quick. The Trials are only two days away and he's pretty skeptical about what I am. No matter how many times I told him I was human he just rolled his eyes and said, "Yeah, whatever."
Violet Eyes yanked me up off the ground holding on to my arm. He got right up in my face, only a breath away and spoke,
"I know you're planning on going to The Trials. Anyone with your skills would. That is why I am not going to let you get in the Sector Walls. We will arrive at the morning of the Trial Ceremony and you are not allowed to follow me. If you do try to get in, I will erase your mind right when we get there and you will never even remember wanting to go to The Trials. And if you even think about running away from me before we reach the Walls, I swear I will erase your mind right then. Of course, you will still help me get to The Walls when your memory is erased, but it will be like you're in a state of unawareness. You got that?" He hissed at me.
Is he insane? Can Nephilim even erase minds? I thought that Nephilim having powers was only a cover up for why they have the right to reside within the Sector Walls.
I stared defiantly up into his unusual eyes and said, "I am going to The Trials and you will not stop me." The moment I said those words, I slapped my mouth shut. Like I said, my common sense sometimes leaves me when I get nervous. This will probably piss him off even more. I should have just nodded and agreed.
"Don't test me, human. If you really are just a human, then you do not belong in those Walls. Even if you aren't a human, I do not want you there. You will be a danger to us all and I can not let you threaten the Nephilim," Violet Eyes declared as he got even closer to me as if daring me to say something. When I didn't say anything, he backed up and motioned for me to follow him.
Yep, Violet Eyes must really be insane. First, talking about how he can erase my memories and shit. Next, he's going on about how I'm dangerous to the Nephilim. Pfft as if. How could I possibly be a threat to them? I'm just a 17-year old girl who's trying to get to The Trials. Nothing threatening about that.
We walked out from behind the dumpster and headed quickly in the opposite direction the street brawl had been. I could tell these streets used to look beautiful at night, the houses all lit up, laughter in the air. Now, there's hardly enough light filtering through the street lamps to enable us to see. All the houses are abandoned and ransacked in this area. Broken glass, trash, and some things I don't want to even identify litter the streets.
I've always avoided being out alone at night. The gangs come out when it gets dark and you do not want to mess with them. Violet Eyes should know better than to travel at this time. But hey, I guess since he's from inside the Sector Walls that he never has to worry about gangs or anything. How naive of him.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" Leered a deep, raspy voice.

Declan
"Why are you late?" Demanded my father as I opened the door to The Ward of The White Sector, also known as my house.
"I'm not," I replied aggravated. I continued past him through the expansive house better suited to be a castle. The Ward of the White Sector is where the First Descendant and his family reside. This is where the breakdown of the White Sector takes place. Sometimes, The Descendants of The Black and Blue Sector will come here with The Known Family to discuss matters that never involve myself. Mostly, they discuss The Trials and demon activity throughout The Sectors.
