Love Runs Deeper Than Blood

USWNT CAMP- the actual proposal

The alarm went off at 8:30 to get down to breakfast at 9. Today was the day. The day to test Tobin's patience, the day to test the team's ability to keep a secret, and the day to test Tobin's acting skills.

"Toby. We gotta get up. Come on." Alex kissed Tobin's forehead.
"Ughh." Tobin moaned.
"What's the matter Tobin?"
"My head just hurts a little, I'll be ok."
"Did you take any medicine?"
"Yeah, I woke up at like 6:30 and took some."
"OK, let me know if you feel any worse."
"I will baby girl"
"Come on, we have to get to breakfast."
Tobin was acting slower than usual. She had already informed the team what her plan was, so they knew to play along. They saw Cheney and A-Rod in the elevator.
"Hey guys!" Cheney said cheerily.
"Hi Chens, how are you?" Alex asked. 
"Good thanks"
"Hey Tobs, You ok?" A-Rod asked
"Just feeling a little off today. I'm probably getting a cold or something, I'll be fine." she added a cough for good measure. Prompting Alex to feel check her forehead. Perfect Tobin thought. 
"I'm fine, really Lex."
"Hope you feel better, Tobs."
"Thanks"

At breakfast, Ali and Ash asked if Tobin and Alex were able to watch Sammie tonight. 
"Well, Tobin isn't feeling well, so I don't want Sammie to get sick. But I suppose I can take her out later, if you'll be ok Tobin?"
"I'll be ok, Lex. Sorry I can't help."
"It's ok. You can't help being sick."
Right on cue, Rylie said "Alex can I come too?" 
"I don't mind, It's up to your parents Ry."
"It's ok by me" Christie said. 
"Ok its a date. Where do you want to go?"
Rylie and Sammie eyed each other, and said "A walk on the beach." at the same time
"Well, I guess we're going for a walk on the beach." Alex said.

LATER THAT NIGHT

Alex went to pick up Sammie, and Rylie was in the room too. Sammie had Tobin's phone hidden in her pocket, and Rylie had hers too. They both had chairs on their back, and there was one waiting for Alex. 
"Are you ladies ready?"
"Yeah!"
"Let's go then"

They all got in the car that the team provided, and drove to the beach. Alex parked and they got out. The sun just started to set, and they began to walk. They ran in and out of the water, and had fun with each other. Once they got to the beach access labeled 4, Sammie asked if they could stop and sit.
"Sure, are you ok?" Alex asked concerned
"Yeah I'm fine, I promise, I just think this is a good place to watch the sunset, ya know?"
"Ok" And they up the chairs. 
"Hey Alex?"
"Yeah, Sammie girl?"
"I want to show you something."
"Ok"
"You can't question anything, ok?"
"Never."
Rylie can barely contain her giggles.
Alex reaches over and tickles her stomach,
"And whats so funny, missy?" she laughed
"Nothing"
"Okk. so Sam, what did you want to show me?"
Sammie pulled out the phone, and unlocked it. Then she played the video for Alex.

By the time the video reached Syd, she was already crying. Once she reached Jeni's part, Rylie texted Ashlyn. Once she finished her parents video, she knew what was coming. 
"We all love you Alex. Turn around" Rylie and Sammie leaned in  and kissed her cheek. 
"We love you Alex!"
Alex turned around, and saw Tobin on one knee. Rylie whipped out her phone, and began to record it.

WITH TOBIN AND ASH
Ashlyn's phone buzzed. It was Rylie. 
"It's go time, Tobs."
"Let's do this." 
Tobin started off down the stairs, and Ashlyn turned on the camera she had around her neck. she stood at the direct bottom of the stairs so she could take pictures. 

WITH ALEX AND TOBIN

"Alex. I love you and have loved you since the first time I laid eyes on you. You are my moon, you are my stars, you are my sun, you are my world. You are everything that is happy, you are everything that is beautiful, you are everything that is important. Without you, I'd be lost, never to know the true meaning of love. Never to know the true meaning of beauty. Never to know the true meaning of fun. God, Alex. I love you with my whole heart and there is nobody I would rather ride out my career with, start a family with, or enjoy the rest of my life with. So, Alexandra Patricia Morgan, will you marry me?"
Alex barely breathed out a simple, "yes." Tobin stood up and kissed her softly on the forehead, and then placed the most beautiful ring on her finger. Alex looked down at it and gasps. It was so beautiful. And Rylie got the whole thing on video, and Ash had gotten so many good pictures. Tobin and Alex pulled away from each other. Alex looks Tobin in the eyes and asks, "But how?"
"Well, when Kling and Pressy took you out, the rest of the team stayed back, an recorded the clips. Then Aaron and the team went to your parents house, and filmed their parts. These two," she said pointing to Sammie and Rylie, "Were the biggest help. Thank you girls. Ali and Ash never went out tonight, in fact, Ash is here as a photographer. I faked the whole being sick thing, so I could come later. Honestly though, these two never missed a beat, today at breakfast, when and where to stop, when in the video to text me, they even stalled and kissed you on the cheek when I Was a few steps behind. We owe you ladies!"
"No you don't. It was fun." Sammie said. 
"Hey Sam?" Tobin asked
"Yeah?"
"Can I have my phone?"
"Oh yeah, here"
Ash came down the beach, and Tobin and Alex hugged Sammie and Rylie.
"Thank you girls. I really love you!" Alex said.
"Come on girls." Ash called. "I'll drive you guys back. We'll let Tobin and Alex drive back together. I think some ice cream is in order too."
"Awesome! Let's go!"

Tobin handed Ash the keys, and they headed up to the car. They climbed in, and headed to the ice cream shop. Ash made sure to get one for Reece and Ryan, because she didn't want them to feel left out. 

Tobin and Alex walked down the beach for the first time as an engaged couple. They held hands the whole time, even on the drive back to the hotel. Once they were back, they were greeted by the whole team in the lobby.
"She said YES!" Tobin exclaimed holding Alex's hand up, ring showing. 
"Congrats guys! We love you!"
"Couldn't have done it without you."
"Hey Alex?" Rylie asked
"Yeah, Ry?"
"I wanna show you guys something. Come into the meeting room everyone." They were greeted by a video screen and a lot of confusion. What nobody knew was that Rylie had sent the video that Alex had watched to her dad, along with the video she took. He added the video Rylie took to the end of the other one. Nobody, not even Tobin and Alex knew she videotaped the proposal. Once the video started playing, Alex smiled, and stared crying again by Sydney. She melted into Tobin. Once Sammie and Rylie's part was over, everyone but Rylie and her dad started clapping, until a message on the screen came up, "You didn't think I wouldn't get THIS on video? Did you?" Love Rylie. Then when everyone realized what it was, they all quieted down and watched. Alex cried all over again, and so did A-Rod and Cheney. They were beyond impressed with their best friend's romantic side. Once the video ended, Alex went over to Rylie and picked her up and spun her around. "I love you so much Rylie Rampone!" She whispered. Then she picked up Sammie. "I love you so much, Sammie girl. Thank you." Then she went around and hugged everyone and thanked them for their kind words. She finally got the chance to leave, because she wanted to skype her family. When she got to the door, she almost walked into someone. When she looked up to apologize, she was met with the soft eyes of her father, and behind him was her mother and two sisters.
"Daddy!" Alex threw her arms around his waist.
"Hi Ali-Cat. Congratulations, baby girl. We saw the whole video. You got a good one. we're so proud of you. We love you."
"I love you too, daddy."

This was the best night of Alex's life, and it was in large part thanks to Sammie.  And to think that Sammie had any doubts of whether or not she'd be accepted.
