That day was one of the best days of my life. Now we're a year later, and I'm beginning to look at colleges. Lex and I were sitting on my couch in the living room when mom walked in with Cass after her gymnastics practice.
"Hey Sam," she greeted. "Hi Alexa."
"Hey Mom. Hey Cass."
"Hey Mrs. K, hiya Cassie!"
"Sam there's a letter for you in the kitchen," Mom explained.
I groaned and got up from where I was sitting with Lex and went to go get the letter. I returned to my spot in Lex's lap and she rested her chin on my shoulder to read what the letter said.
"Samantha Krieger-Harris,
We are writing to inform you that due to your exceptional athletic performances and your stellar academic Grade Point Average, the women's soccer program at Pennsylvania State University is highly interested in having you attend the school and play for the program, with all expenses, including but not limited to, tuition, lodging, and dining, paid for entirely by the University. I, personally, would love to meet with you and discuss further face to face. Please contact me to schedule a date and location where we can discuss your decision, as I would assume many other schools have been lining up to offer for you to play for them.
Best regards,
Coach Erica Dambach, Pennsylvania State University"
"What's that? Four?" Lex teased me.
"No," I responded. "It's only three."
She threw her head back in laughter and tickled me under my arms and in the side of my stomach.
"I'm so proud of you," she complimented after she stopped tickling me. She pressed her lips to my forehead, and smiled into it.
"Thanks Lexi," I smiled back.
"What was it?" Mom called from the kitchen.
"I got a full ride," I explained.
"Another one? Where?"
"Oh you're gonna love this one," I laughed.
"No way! Is it what I'm thinking?"
"It depends on whether Penn State is on your mind?" I quirked an eyebrow at her.
"Sammie girl that's amazing!"
"I know! Lexi where have you gotten offers to?"
"Uhh both Carolinas, Southern Cali and UConn,". Lex answered and moved to my lap.
"Hopefully we can go somewhere together," I whispered in her ear and gave her ear a little nip for good measure. She gasped and Mom quirked an eyebrow at us.
"Everything okay?" She asked.
"Everything's great," Lex answered and buried her face in my shoulder. We turned back to the TV, but 5 minutes later Cass came back in.
"Lex will you watch my routine? I have a meet on Saturday," Cass begged.
"Not not no-" I began to say but Lex is just too nice.
"I'd love to watch, Cassie!" She responded.
CK was now eight years old, and found her calling in gymnastics. She was especially good at the beam and floor though.
We followed her outside where we had a bar, beam, and some mats set up for her.
"Which one are you gonna show us?" Lex asked.
