"Mom! Mama! Hurry up we're gonna be late!"
"We're coming champ!" Mama called.
I am so excited. Today is my first game ever. I had been practicing all throughout the summer and I finally got to try out, and made the team.
"Okay you ready Sammie girl?"
"Yeah! Let's go!" I was super stoked.

When we arrived at the field, mama parked and I ran off with my team to warm up.
"Hey Sammie!"
"Hi Michaela!"
"You ready?"
"So ready. Let's do this."
Michaela, or Mikey, and I hit it off from the first practice, and it turns out she goes to the school I'll be going to in a few weeks. We both did our dynamics and static stretching, before heading out to the field to do the shooting drill we do before starting.

"Alright ladies. First game of the season, let's come out strong and take it to them. Knights on 3. 1! 2! 3!"
"Knights!" Once we finished chanting, I went out to the goal and shuffled along the goal line and kicked each post like I did every practice. The ref blew his whistle and Michaela passed it up to her striker partner, Lizzie, who kicked it out to the wing. The game was back and forth until just before half, when Mikey got taken down in the box and the referee called a penalty.
"You got it Kayla!" I yelled from the goal. I watched as she lined it up, and run towards the ball. She put a little stutter on before throwing her laces through, and sailing it into the right upper 90. The parents erupted, and I heard a very familiar few voices among the crowd. I looked up and saw Alex and Tobin in the crowd with mom and mama. I knew Portland was coming I just didn't think they'd be able to come. A few minutes later, the ref blew the whistle. I ran to Michaela, and we high fived before running off the field together.
"Great shot!"
"Thanks. Great job the one time you had to touch the ball." She joked.
"Haha very funny. This is my favorite type of game because it means were dominating."
"True true."

"Okay ladies. Great half! You really have dominated possession in the central midfield and that is allowing for the through balls to be played. Keep doing what we're going and we're going to start the half the way we started the game. Now get out there!"

We all resumed our positions on the field and the other team kicked off. The game went back and forth with no real threat to me until about the 70th minute. Casey, our centerback, pushed up too far, and the holding midfielder threaded the ball into the striker's run and she was in alone. I remembered all the times I had watched mama practice, and I charged out, making myself as big as possible and she fired it. I felt it hit my arm, and bounce out for a corner. The stadium erupted, and I looked up where mom, mama, Alex, and Tobin were sitting, and they all gave me thumbs up and smiled. Casey cleared the corner, and we kept most of the possession for the rest of the game. The whistle blew, and Michaela ran to me.
"Hey great game, Kay."
"Yeah way to be Sam!" She said as she high fived me.
"Hey there's some people here I want you to meet."
"Who is it?"
"Well you've obviously met my parents."
"Uh. Yeah still jealous dude." She laughed.
"Well, some friends of theirs tagged along." I smirked as we approached mom and mama.
"Sammers!" I heard and made eye contact with Alex.
"Alex!" I exclaimed and ran into her arms. "Hey Tobin!" I said and hugged her too.
"Hey kid. Where'd you learn to play like that?" Tobin smirked and threw her arm around my shoulder.
"Hey come here guys. I want you to meet somebody."
"Okay where?"
"Over here she's with mom and mama right now. Hey Kay!" I called and she looked up. It took her a minute to register who I was with, but she was shocked when she realized. We made our way over, and she met us half way.
"Alex. Tobs. This is Michaela."
"Hey you're the one who scored that sick PK, right?" Tobin asked her.
"I wouldn't say sick." Michaela responded.
"I would." Alex said. "You totally got her with the stutter."
"Really?"
"Yeah absolutely."

"Hey Sam." Mama called coming over. "That was a killer save at the end."
"Haha thanks mama. I learned from the best." I said.
"Do you guys want to come out to dinner with us?" Mom asked Alex and Tobin.
"Yeah sure!" Alex answered for the both of them.
"Michaela do you want to tag along."
"Yeah let me just go ask my parents." She said jogging over towards her parents. A few minutes later, Mikey came back.
"My parents said it was okay if it's still okay with you." She told mom.
"Of course! Let's go."

Mom, Mama, Mikey, and I all piled into Mama's jeep, and Alex and Tobin followed close behind in their car. Soon, we arrived at the Italian place we were going to, and we all piled out.

Once we were seated, the waitress came over.
"Hi how are you guys? Can I start you off with something to drink?"
Once we all ordered our drinks and the waitress left, Alex addresses Michaela and I.
"Did you guys meet through soccer?"
"Yeah we kinda hit it off from the first practice." I answered
"That's good. Will you be in school together?"
"Yeah we're in the same grade as well." Michaela answered.
"Awesome! I'm glad you're settling in Sam." Alex said
"Yeah it's nice."

A few minutes later, the food came and we ate in silence because we were so hungry. Once we finished eating, we headed back to our house.
"Mama can Mikey sleep over?"
"If she wants to. She just has to check in with her parents."
"Let me check." Michaela said and she pulled out her phone. A few seconds later she got a text from her mom saying it was okay, and she would bring clothes and stuff for her. Alex and Tobin were coming over for awhile as well.
"Hey Kay. Do you wanna hang out down here or upstairs?"
"Uh whatever you want."
"I guess what I'm asking is, Alex and Tobin, or up with me?"
"Um I think you know the answer." She said causing mom and mama to chuckle as we pulled into the driveway. We headed into the house with Alex and Tobin close behind.
"What do you wanna watch?" Alex asked.
"Is there a game on?" I asked.
"Yeah let me check." Mama said. "Arsenal?"
"Yeah. I forgot that was on!" Michaela said.
"You an Arsenal fan?" Tobin asked raising her eyebrows.
"Yeah lifelong."
"Awesome choice." Tobin fist bumped her. Eventually the game ended and Michaela and I headed upstairs.
"Bye Al. See ya Tobs."
"See ya kiddo. Love you." Tobin told me as she wrapped me in a hug.
"Love you Sammers. See you at the game?"
"Yeah I think so."
"Good. It was nice meeting you Michaela."
"Yeah you're a cool kid with great choice in clubs." Tobin told her with that signature smile.
"Buy nice meeting you guys!" Michaela said. With that we headed upstairs.
"Night mama night mom."
"Night ladies. See you tomorrow."

Michaela and I headed upstairs, and into my room.
"Hey can I borrow some sweats?"
"Yeah sure. Here." I said tossing her some sweats as I climbed into bed.
"Night Sam."
"Night Mikey."

AN: so I'm really sorry this is long overdue and terrible, but Sam has a friend now so that's kinda cool. These are kinda filler right now but they'll get better. (I hope) But I'm sorry this is so bad oh gosh I can't handle it. Anyways, see ya later.
