"Hey Carls?" Ash called as she saw Carli rounding the corner in the hotel. She had took off running, leaving her wife and Alex behind to help make sure Sammie didn't fall while she was getting used to the crutches.
"Oh hey Ash! What's the word on Sammie?"
"She tore her Posterior Tibial tendon."
"What the hell is that?"
"It's the tendon that Wraps right underneath your ankle bone, and up your calf."
"Ouch. How long?"
"A few months."
"That sucks. So what did you want to talk to me about?"
"Oh right. Ali and I were wondering if you could possibly talk to her tonight. Just you know about the usual Carli stuff. Hard work, perseverance, dedication, you know. The usual."
"Yeah sure. I'd be happy to. I think she needs a nap first though." Carli said pointing out Ali carrying a sleeping Sammie, and Alex carrying her crutches.
"Yeah I guess so. Can you talk to her right after dinner?"
"Yeah of course!"
"Thanks Carls. I'd better go help." Ash laughed.
"See you later Ash!"
Ash walked over to Ali, Alex, and Tobin
"Hey Alex's and Tobin" she greeted.
"Hey Ash! Where'd you run off to?"
"Oh. I just talked to Carli. She agreed to talk to Sammie later tonight."
"Oh. Great!" Ali said.
"What do you need we to talk to her about?" Tobin asked.
"Just hard work, dedication. Typical Carli stuff."
"Oh. Good call." Alex said.
"Here I can take those Alex. That way you don't have to go up to come back down."
"Oh yeah. Here. See you at dinner, text if you need anything"
"Will do. Thanks for everything guys. It means a lot to her to have you there."
"It was no problem. We really do love her like family. You guys got a good one that's for sure." Alex said. "See you later!" Alex leaned down and kissed Sammie's head. "By Sammers. I love you." She whispered.
"Bye Alex. See ya Tobs." Ali said. "Thanks again."
Ali and Ash headed towards the elevator, and were stopped by a few teammates. They decided it'd be easier to call a team meeting to tell everyone. They got Sammie upstairs, and texted Jill asking if they could hold a team meeting in a half hour. She agreed, and sent out a text to the team. Ali and Ash let Sammie sleep for 20 more minutes, then woke her up so they could get to the meeting first. Ali and ash had to be strict and make her crutch down, because she needed to get used to using them. Once they got down to the meeting room, Sammie sat down in a chair, Ali and Ash on either side of her. One by one or in small groups, their teammates started filing in. Once everyone was there, Jill called Ali and ash up to take over.
"Hey guys. So we just wanted to call this to fill you in on what happened to Sammie today." Ali said.
"Yeah" ash continued. "So today, Sammie was showing Paul some punts during a break. She planted, and hit a weak spot in the crap turf that we were forced to train on, I swear to got this fu-"
"Ashlyn." Ali warned.
"Sorry. Right so she planted and her foot tweaked outwards. She ended up tearing her Posterior Tibial tendon, which is the tendon that hugs underneath your ankle bone, and runs up the side of your calf. So anyways, we just figured we'd tell you in person, rather than a text to avoid answering questions over text. So any questions?"
"How long is she out for?" Pinoe asked
"A few months at least. Any others? No? Alright, well that's all we have, so unless coach has something. I think we're done here."
"I don't have anything" Jill said. "You all are free."
"Thanks coach"
Ali, Ash and Sammie went back up to their room, and Sammie collapsed on the bed.
"These things are exhausting!"
"I know. But you gotta stay on them until the doctor says. It will come back to bite you in the butt later if you don't, Sammie- Girl." Ali said.
" I know I just don't want to. It's awful."
"We know. We know."
"Ali, we should probably let the family know what happened."
"Yeah you're right. Let's text them. I don't feel like talking."
"Ok. I'll text my side you text yours." Ash said.
The grandmothers were overreacting like all grandmothers do, the grandfathers just said how sorry they were, and Chris and Kyle just said how they hope she gets better soon. The grandmothers had to be talked out of flying down, in fact. Before they knew it, they had to wake Sammie up once again, and go down to dinner.
"Hey Champ? Time to go to dinner." Ash said rubbing Sammie's back.
"Carry me?"
"Sure kiddo. Just brush your hair before you go down. I'll get you the brush."
"Ok"
Ash handed her the brush, and she ran it through her hair a few times before throwing it up in a ponytail.
"Hey mom? Can you toss me the pre wrap on the table?"
"Yeah sure" Ash said, tossing her the pre wrap. Sammie made a quick headband, and sat up on the bed. Ash went over and bent down so she could hop on her back. They walked over to the door to the bathroom, and told Ali to hurry up. Once Ali came out, she grabbed Sammie's crutches, and the small family headed out. Once they got down, Ash sat Sammie down next to Rylie, and Ash went to get their food.
"Hey Sam. What happened?"
"I twisted my foot today, and I tore a tendon."
"Ouch. That hurts. How long?"
"Few months. It stinks."
"Sure does."
Ash came back with food for her and Sammie, and took the seat next to her daughter, and Ali sat on the other side of Ash. Tobin, Alex, Cap, Chris (caps husband) and Reece all sat at the table too. Once dinner was over, Carli came over.
"Hey Sam. Come with me to my room? I want to talk to you."
"Uh. Yeah sure."
Sam followed Carli to the elevator, and up to her room. Carli opened the door.
"You can lay on the bed kiddo. Take off your boot. I have an ice pack that straps round your foot, you have to ice it." Carli said, going into the freezer and taking out the ice pack. She strapped it around Sammie's foot, and propped her foot up on a pillow.

AN: sorry for ending it so quickly, I just plan on having Carlis talk be pretty long, so the chapter would get to be pretty extensive. I'll update later tonight or tomorrow.
