"Hey mom!" I called.
"Hey what?"
"The new neighbors just pulled in. It looks like they have a girl who's around my age!" I called from my spot at the window.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yup."
"We can go see them later, once it seems like they've settled in." Mom told me as she came into the living room where I was sitting.
"Okay"
"Hey I have to go food shopping. You wanna come?"
"Yeah sure. Where's mama?"
"She had to go in for goalkeeper training early. I have the day off."
"Oh okay."
"Come on let's go." We hopped into the car, and headed to the supermarket. I pushed the cart while Mom threw stuff in. Together we were done in 45 minutes.
"Hey I think that was a new record." Mom laughed as we headed into the house.
"Well yeah. Mama usually holds us up."
"That is true." She chuckled. "Hey if you help me put this stuff away, I'll take you to get stuff for school."
"Alright." I told her and began to put stuff away. Once we were finished, mom and I headed to the mall, because I needed stuff for school.
"Sam do you wanna go clothes shopping or supply shopping first?"
"Get the clothes over with." I answered, causing mom to laugh.

We headed into a multitude of stores, too many to name, and I got many pairs of jeans, some shorts, shirts and boots as well. Once we were finished clothes shopping, we headed to get some of the essentials I needed for school, like notebooks, folders, pencils, binders. Stuff like that.
"Mom. I'm starving." I complained.
"What do you want to eat?"
"Hmm I don't care, just anything."
"Okay. Let's go to the pizza place down the street from here."

We arrived at our go-to pizzeria, and grabbed our favorite booth in the back.
"Cheese?" Mom asked me.
"Deep dish."
"Oh going for the big guns I see." Mom joked with me.
"Of course." I answered.

Once our food came, and we finished we headed home where mama was waiting for us.

"Hey guys!" She greeted from the couch and got up to greet us.
"Hey Mama." I said.
"Hi Ash. How was training."
"Tiring."
"I would imagine. Hey. Sam and I were going to meet the new neighbors, if you wanted to come."
"Yeah I should probably shower first."
"Okay hurry up. We'll wait here."

Once Mama was out of the shower, we headed over to the new neighbors' house. I headed up the steps, and knocked on the door. A girl who was about my age opened it, with her mother and father behind her.
"Hi." She said.
"Hi I'm Samantha. I live next door."
"Hi I'm Alexa."

ALI'S POINT OF VIEW

Alexa. That's really familiar.

"Hi nice to meet you. These are my moms, Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris." Sammie introduced us.
"Oh my gosh! We met in the airport. Ali! She's the one from the Bahamas." Ash told me.
"Oh yeah. I knew I recognized you." I realized. "Nice to see you again, Alexa."
"You too." She smiled shyly.
Her parents stepped outside to talk to us, and Alexa invited Sammie inside.

"Hi I'm David. Alexa's father."
"And I'm Liz. Alexa's mother."
"Hi I'm Ash."
"I'm Ali."
"Oh we know who you are." He chuckled. "At least once a day Lex mentions meeting you at the airport."
"She does?"
"Of course." He just laughed.
"Has she found a team yet?" I asked.
"No not yet. We just moved to the city from northern Maryland."
"Well there's a few spots on Sam's team open. I can give you the coach's information."
"That would be great! Thank you!"
"No problem. What can I send it to?"

David took my phone and put his number in, so I sent him the coach's information.

INSIDE WITH SAM AND ALEXA

"So how old are you?" Alexa asked Sam.
"10."
"No way! Me too!"
"Really?"
"Yup. What position do you play in soccer?"
"Right outside back."
"Really? I play keeper!"
"That's so cool!"
"Thanks! Hey do you wanna meet my friend Michaela?"
"Yeah sure."
"Okay. Lemme call her."

Sam pulled out her phone and called Michaela.
"Hey Kay. You wanna come over? There's someone I want you to meet. She just moved in next door."

"Yeah sure. I'll be over in ten."

Once Sam hung up, she turned to Alexa.
"Do you wanna go to my house?"
"Yeah sure."
Alexa and Sammie stepped outside and they squeezed their way through the parents.
"Hey where are you guys going?" Mama called.
"Our house. Kayla's coming over too." Sammie called over her shoulder.
"Okay!" The parents chorused. Sam and Alexa made their way up to Sam's room, and Sammie flopped on the bed, while Alexa took the chair. A few minutes later, Michaela walked in.
"Hey Mikey."
"Hey Sam!"
"Mikey this is Alexa, Alexa this is Michaela."
"Hi!" The two girls said at once. All three girls hit it off really well during their conversation.
"Alexa what school are you going to in the fall?"
"West point."
"Really? Us too!" Sam said gesturing at herself and Michaela.
"No way! What's your schedule?"
"Here let me find it." Sam said and headed to her desk. Michaela pulled out her phone and showed Alexa the picture she took of it.
"Hey we have periods 2 and 5 together as well as lunch." Alexa said as she compared their five period schedules. Sammie walked over soon after and showed her schedule.
"Hey we all have 2, 5 and lunch, plus Alexa and I have 4 and Michaela and I have 2 as well." Sammie observed.
"This is gonna be a great year. Too bad that we only have a week left until we have to go back." Michaela sighed.
"Yeah, but we'll be together."
"True." Alexa agreed.

The girls sat in the room and just talked soccer and life, before Ali came up and knocked.
"Come in!" Sammie called
"Hey do you guys wanna stay for dinner?"
"Yeah I have nothing to do." Michaela agreed.
"Me either." Said Alexa.
"Great. It's ready when you are."

The girls followed Ali down the stairs, and sat around the table.
"Hey ladies!" Ash greeted.
"Hi!" The girls chorused and dug into the pasta in front of them.
"So Alexa, we talked to your parents, and got you a tryout with Sam and Kayla's soccer team." Ali explained.
"Really? That's awesome!" Alexa said.
The rest of the meal was finished in almost silence. Once they finished, the girls headed out back with Ali and Ash to play 2 v 2 with Ash in the goal.

The teams were Ali and Michaela Sammie and Alexa. It was back and forth for a few minutes until Ash fed Ali up the side. Alexa ran across the field, and stripped Ali of the ball.
"Woah good work Alexa." Ali praised.
"Thanks." She laughed.

Once the game was through, everybody went inside and Sammie pulled Ash aside.
"Mama, can Alexa and Kay sleep over?"
"Um yeah. We don't have training until 3 tomorrow so that'll be okay."
"Awesome thanks!"
"Yup. Make sure it's alright with their parents though."
"I know." Sammie said, giving Ash a quick hug.
"Love you champ."
"I love you too Mama." Sammie said and headed back into the living room.
"Do you guys wanna sleep over?" Sam asked the girls.
"Lemme ask." Michaela answered.
"Same."

The two girls got the green light, so they headed upstairs to Sammie's room, where they borrowed sweats to sleep in.
"Okay so we have one AirBed but one of you can sleep in my bed with me." Sammie announced.
"I call AirBed!" Michaela said.
"Okay so Lexa you can sleep with me."
"Okay cool."

It was close to 10:00, so the girls hopped into bed and tried to fall asleep. Alexa fell asleep before Sammie, and once asleep she wound up moving closer to Sam. Instead of pushing her off, Sam let her sleep. It wasn't like she minded really.
