Episode Six

My eyes widen and i almost feel my book slip out of my hand before i tighten my grip around it.

"Wait. You're Davie Coffeemachine's older sister?!" My voice was loud and awkward.

Her eyes are unchanging as she replies. "Yeah."

HOW?!

"But - You guys are nothing alike ! And, and- he's so loud, and you're so..." i mumble that last part as i glance at her direction.

"Yeah, we get that a lot."

I sigh and place my face into my palms.

"Oh my god. I'm so sorry."

"It's fine. My brother is a complete idiot anyways." I hear her say

"He seems really nice, though." I move my hands away from my face.

"Well, he is.. But when we were little he tried to ride our pet dog."

My lips curve into a wide smile. "Wow."

"I know."

"Julie ! Wake up - You're late !"

Five more minutes...

"Julie!- Ugh, Nova you try."

Footsteps tap against the wooden floor and i hear them approach my bed.

"Julie." The familiar voice says, "If you don't wake up you're gonna miss breakfast. It's eggs and ham day."

...

"What the hell , Nova? How's that suppose to wake her up?"

"I don't know, always works on Davie.."

"Whatever, let's just go get breakfast. We tried."

"No, wait, i'm up." I mumble as i sit up from my bed, rubbing my sleepy eyes.

"Oh my god, your bed hair is defying the laws of gravity." I hear Amy chuckle.

"Thank you." I say, voice still lined with sleep.

"Well, you have like three minutes to get ready or there's not gonna be anything left for you to eat."

"Three minutes, it is." I say, quickly springing out of my bed.

No way i'm gonna miss breakfast.

The three of us walk down the halls to the lunch(breakfast) room. The halls were actually pretty empty...

Even when we step into the lunch room, it's quiet with the light mumbling noise of people chatting and the smell of coffee is spread throughout the room. The atmosphere was almost like a cafe.

I step onto the line, with about seven people ahead of me.

My eyes scan the room unconsciously and i feel a pang of disappointment hit me when i don't spot him in the room.

I let out a heavy sigh through my nose and return my attention to the line. I was up next...

Should I get ham and eggs or bacon and eggs..? My struggle...

"Hi, can i get eggs and bacon?"

"Sorry, we ran out a while ago."

Internal cry.

"Oh, then the ham and eggs will be fine."

The man behind the counter nods.

"Oh, hey Jules." The voice behind me makes me spin around.

"Good morning, Parker."

"Morning. How was your first night here?"

"Better than i expected."

"Lucky for you. Davie and Jax wouldn't stop talking. Then, they started singing disney duets when i was trying to sleep.- Davie sings Anna's part pretty good in Love Is An Open Door, though.."

The man places my tray in front of me and i thank him then turn back to Parker, "Wow, lucky you."

The two of us chuckle.
