Episode Eighteen

I glance towards Davie, who had now stood out of the pool, droplets of water falling off of him as he stared at my direction.

"U-uhm... Why are you here?" I say quietly, making sure that the other two boys in the room wouldn't overhear.

"You must return to the kingdom, Your Highness." My loyal guard speaks, voice stern and loud.

The sentence itself earns a wild expression from Jax, whose eyes had widen.

"Your Highness?" Davie says from behind Charles. He stood only a few feet away now.

Charles turns on his heels to face Davie.

"Yes. Queen Juliet of Greenwood, " Charles takes a moment to scan Davie from head to toe, "And you are?"

"I'm Julie's friend." Davie replies, and he looks at me,

"Julie... You're a Queen..?"

"Uh, y-yea..."

He looks at me with bewilderment.

And I almost felt bad.

"Julie, I --"

"Miss Greenwood, we must leave now. I've settled everything with your teachers and classes."

My eyes travel around the room to see Jax who stared at us, body still under the water.

"Okay."

The few days i returned to my kingdom, i'm put in for my confirmation for being Queen.

A large feast was thrown in my castle, and afterwards i would arrive in the center of one of the larger towns that'd i'd owned for a speech and my official crowning.

Then, my mother's funeral would be two days after.

It was a busy schedule that I had ran and it didn't soften the load when Christy told me that I would have to be taken out of school to 'perform my duties as queen'.

I'd taken a lesson with one of my advisors about trade, and economics and all the things that make me want to yawn. But, I had to focus.

I wanted to call Nova, then whine and tell her how much pressure everything is.

And I did text Jax a few times after my confirmation, explaining that I wouldn't be at school anymore in a sentence and ending it there.

Being Queen didn't bother me as much, but not being able to see my friends... That's what made me feel the worse the past days.

There's no one here but the guards and servants. Not anyone I can mess around with except Christy, who had her own schedule to run.

It's really quiet here.
