"DAVIE! OPEN YOUR DOOR!!"

My white knuckles pounded against the dark wooden door of his dorm room. There are muffled footsteps behind the door and a voice which sounded all too familiar.

The door swings open and Davie stands before me. "Julie? What happened?"

"I need my notebook - Jax said he gave it to you?!"

His face still wore a slightly confused or startled expression. It takes a few moments before Davie nods.

"Yeah, I have it, it's over here. You can come in."

I nod and step into the room, my eyes wandering to explore the new area.

"Umm, I just need to find it."

"Ok. Thank god you had it... I don't know what'd I do if I lost it..."

"Is it a diary or something?"

My heart pumps fast. "No... It's just for - for History." I let out a mental sigh when I see him nod.

He's rummaging through the piles of books and papers and empty cans on his desk.

How did he manage to already make a mess on the first day?

"Here," I look back up to meet his brown eyes as he held out the familiar black and white notebook. I take the book back and let out a long held sigh. "Thanks so much. I really owe you."

That grin that everybody knows appears on his face again; the youthful and sweet yet, devilish grin.

"Why not tell me what's so important about this book that you had to hunt me down to get it back?"

My cheeks flare, but I keep my composure. "It's just my notes."

...

<A Few Days Later>

The purple goggles are slipped off my head and I drop it into my bag. My towel is ruffling into my damp hair when my phone notifies me with a buzz.

-Hey. Tonight, meet me in the cafeteria. Ok?

I shove the towel into my bag and sit down on the cold bench of the locker room.

Yeah. What for?

-Jax's sister is free tonight and she wants to meet you.

He has a sister?

-Yeah, you didn't know?

Nope. I'll be there.

-Ok, Red.

I roll my eyes.

Ok. Have fun trying to ride your dog.

-Hey. I was five.

A stupid grin is spread onto my face once I place down the phone. The familiar burning spreading on my cheeks once I remind myself of what happened a couple days ago, and I shrug it off.

Ugh, it was probably just a misunderstanding...

....

No, it's not.

Because once i flip my notebook back to that one page again in my dorm, I feel my heart race.

My eyes keep scanning over the lines, and i feel like my chest would explode.

She is really pretty. She's smart. She's nice.

Julie. I think i like her.

I slam the book shut.
