"Julie, you're not coming back?"

"I don't think so."

"Awh," Davie sighs dramatically over the line, "But, I -- we miss you."

I could practically see him pouting, sitting on his bed while he talked, "At least come visit? Or we can visit?"

"I can try, but no promises..."

"You gotta promise." He says pleadingly, with a stern voice.

"Uggghhhh, Daaavviiieee...."

"Juuulllleesssssss."

Christy comes in now, a quiet knock on the door,

"Come in!"

She smiles when she comes in, a white envelope in her hands.

"Sorry Davie, i'm gonna go."

"Awh, okay. Bye. I'll call tomorrow after class? "

"Yeah, okay.Bye."

Christy is in front of me by the time I shove my phone in my back pocket

"Who was that?"

"Davie."

"Ooo," she cooed teasingly and I laugh sheeply.

"You're embarrassing, Christy."

"Whatever, don't acknowledge my coolness. Here- a letter for you."

"Letter? Ugh, foreign affairs?"

"Uh, nope. From no one."

I raise a brow before taking the letter she handed me.

It was blank.

Crisply white, nothing else. I glanced at Christy, who had already been heading for the door.

"Uh and I think the tutor won't be able to make it tomorrow, so there won't be a session. If you need me, you know where to find me."

"Thanks, Christy."

She shuts the door behind her with a thud. And I immediately start to cut open the letter.

The letters on the folded paper were neat, written in straight neat rows that crossed the page. And my eyes scanned it fast, reading every letter it included.

I immediately rush out of my room to find Christy.
