Please enjoy Chapter 2 of Ice-Cold! I own nothing! (Except the plot and cover)
It takes quite a while to walk to the guild from Fairy Hills. Just enough time to ponder over what Juvia should do for Gray. As she thought about it, memories from her last attempt flooded her brain. If she'd known it was the day his Master Ur died, she wouldn't have been so upbeat about their anniversary. Juvia felt a pang of guilt in her heart.
The water wizard looked up to the sky. It was blue...It was remarkable. Juvia smiled. It truly was beautiful. Of course it wouldn't hold a candle to her beloved, but it was astonishing. She suddenly remembered when she first saw the grand sky. And it was all thanks to him...to Gray. He was the one that made her see the sky for the very first time after an entire life of gloomy rain.
Juvia's thoughts soon took a turn to think of the amazing ice wizard. He was everything to her. Gray Fullbuster...just his name filled her heart with tremendous bliss.
When they first met, they were enemies. But it was as if fate drew him to her, or the other way around. Juvia grinned. They had to fight each other, but even so, she couldn't ignore the swelling of her heart upon his sight. He was probably completely weirded out by her mood swings, but Juvia had to admit, he most likely still is a bit uneasy around her.
But that didn't change the fact that he still cared. Juvia could've died right then and there. But he saved her, even though they were enemies. Juvia couldn't stop a tear from falling down her cheek. She smiled. That was when she saw the sky.
Gray was the first person to accept her. Phantom Lord did, but it wasn't where she belonged. He was the one that brought her to the guild she loved. The one where all members are treated like family. Juvia Lockser was no longer a gloomy rain woman. She was a proud Fairy Tail wizard.
He'd done so much for her, Juvia could never repay him. But she swore she'd do whatever it takes to protect him.
However, Juvia wondered, is that really what she's been doing?
She thought about the Tartaros madness that occurred a year ago. She thought about Silver, Gray's father. He told Juvia to take down Keyes, the necromancer controlling his corpse. And by doing that, she killed Silver. She broke the tie between father and son. And while Gray treated her no differently, she couldn't help but feel he still had a drop of hatred towards her in his heart.
Juvia shook her head vigorously. She did that for Gray's sake. It was his father's wish. He wouldn't be mad at her, right? Juvia sighed. "What am I doing? I have to think of the perfect gift!" Juvia scolded herself for letting her mind meander.
Sadly, her time was spent because before she knew it, she was the doors of the guildhall, stealing another deep sigh from the woman. Juvia straightened up and forced a smile on her face. She entered the guildhall with confidence. When she walked in, the first person who saw her was Lucy.
The blonde brightened at the sight of the blue-haired girl. "Hey, Juvia!" she said cheerfully. "Hello, Lucy!" Juvia replied with equal enthusiasm as she walked right on by. Suddenly, she stopped, and turned to face the celestial wizard with a hard stare. "Don't get any ideas, my love rival..Gray is all Juvia's..." the water mage said in a low ominous voice, hoping to make the girl cringe, if even a little.
Unfortunately, all she earned was an exasperated exhale from her. "Geez, he's all yours! Do whatever you want, cause I really. Don't. Care!" Lucy tried to get her point across. "You can't fool me, love rival! Juvia knows you're just saying that so you can be let off the hook!" Juvia said, stubborn.
"UGH!" Lucy groaned and walked away before things could get ugly. When Juvia knew she was far enough, the woman smirked to herself. She couldn't help but giggle. She knew that Lucy really didn't like Gray that way, but she just couldn't help but annoy her with it. It was just too much fun. Someday, Juvia promised, she'd tell Lucy that and stop her crazy antics.
