The room was deathly silent. Breaths were held in fear of even the slightest disruption. The guards stood in absolute silence, simply watching their king as he pondered on his throne. King Toma E. Fiore sat, deep in thought.

"It's quite the mystery, is it not?" he asked. "It is," his daughter replied. Princess Hisui stood beside him, contemplating. "Why would Prince Victor simply kill himself? Did he wish to escape punishment by ending his own life?"

The king took a deep breath. "Well, if that were true, why would his cousin join him in his demise?"

Arcadios cleared his throat. "With all due respect, Your Highness, I don't believe it was an ordinary death. We found that the blades were smeared with an odd solution, and Prince Victor was found clutching a small bottle with the substance. I'm having my men investigate as we speak."

Finally, the king hopped off his throne and made way to march out the doors. "Come along. Let's see to it with the wizards."

Heads turned abruptly at the sudden entrance of the king. Immediately, the gathered wizards knelt in respect. Erza spoke first. "Your Majesty, we heard about what happened."

"Yes, I presumed you have," he said as he approached the group. "I'm afraid we don't know too much about what happened, but I trust that we will find answers with all of your assistance."

"We're happy to help, Your Excellency." Erza turned her head to Jellal, who stood next to her. He quickly smiled at her, which she returned.

"Before we begin, there are things that we must know," Princess Hisui spoke as she walked in.

An endless discussion of the incidents pursued in the meeting hall, including the drugs that Jellal and his guild had been exposed to that rendered them under Victor's manipulation, as well as the antidote that Hisui had provided to save them. The binding snakes Victor had once used to trap the Fairy Tail wizards was a spell Victor had stolen from Jellal while he was trapped in the specimen chamber.

But what puzzled the wizards was Victor and Hazel's deaths.

As the discussion went on, one figure sat in a seat alone, not engaging in the debate. Something about the whole event bothered him. And he couldn't figure out why. Gray rubbed his temple in frustration. "Gray-sama?" a soft voice called. He felt a tender hand place itself on his shoulder. "Is everything alright?"

Gray placed his own hand over his girlfriend's and sighed. "Juvia... I don't understand. After everything Victor did, why do I somehow feel remorse for him now?" The water woman sat in the seat next to him. "What do you mean?"

Gray breathed in sharply and rose his head to face the others. "Your Highness?" he called. All faces immediately turned to the ice wizard. "When exactly did Victor kill himself?" he asked carefully.
