Hey guys! Thank you so much for being so considerate and understanding as to why I couldn't update sooner! You all are absolutely amazing! I hope to repay your kindness with a worthwhile chapter!

Fairy Tail belongs to Hiro Mashima alone. I simply own this book, a few characters, and the cover.

Please read and enjoy!

The pillow felt so damp under her sticky cheek. She'd flipped the thing over at least three times now, but each side was now too wet for comfort. Even then, the tears wouldn't stop falling. Juvia didn't believe that she'd cried as much as now in her entire life. And to think it was still over the man who crushed her soul.

What Hazel had told her had left the girl broken and empty. Two days had gone by since then, and the woman seldom left her room, or even opened the door. If she were to, it was to answer one of the maids that would bring her food and water. Juvia never found the urge to eat and ignored the platters of exotic dishes lined up on the table at the corner of the room.

Juvia could hardly believe it. Gray was dying. At this very moment, his life force was being drained. And was he even aware of it? What was this being that Hazel spoke of? This dark being that would engulf Gray in complete darkness and kill him? Had he already reached that form? If there were ancient archives that explained the mystery behind that magical jewel in the realm all along, why go through so much trouble to seek it, despite the risks? No, why have wizards risk their lives for the completion of the job?

So many questions, so little answers. Juvia bit her quivering lip to stop its shakiness. Her eyes grew hard. She'd done enough crying. She'd done enough running. She needed to do something! She was the only one who could let everyone know about this! She could save Gray!

But then again... could she really face her friends again? After what she'd done? She left the guild all over some heartbreak. But that heartbreak really had destroyed her.

What if Gray didn't want to see her again? After all, she'd just been a burden to him the whole time. He was probably glad she'd left! And if that were true, did the rest of the guild feel the same way? Juvia shut her eyes at the thought. What if no one had loved her from the very beginning?

No! That can't be true! Cana had told her that day...when Juvia had destroyed one of the body-linked lightning lacrimas...Cana had cried for her and told her that everyone in the guild loved her like family...those tears couldn't have been a facade...

Before another tear could slide down, Juvia slapped her face hard to snap out of it. She grunted at her own self-harm and held her stinging cheek. But that had done the trick. Gray may not want to see her, and Juvia may not have forgiven him for breaking her, but she was still a member of Fairy Tail. Gray was still important. Juvia decided that if she didn't act, she'd regret it for the rest of her life. She had to save him. That's all there was to it.

Before her conflicted mind could change, the water wizard leaped off the bed and ran towards the doors, opening them abruptly and leaving them to close shut.

Hazel sighed deeply as she scrubbed off one of the china dishes. She was so lost in thought as she stared out of the window and into the rain of madness. That Juvia was something else to be causing this...Hazel's eyes were dull. But even she noticed something.

The rain was thinning out. It was still going strong, but it was letting up. Just a bit. Just enough for one to see it. She raised an eyebrow in confusion. She was shocked to see a small ray of sunshine burst through. It was the most foreign thing she'd seen in the past few days.
