No one could've seen it coming. The wizards stood in shock. With the exception of Gray, who was the reason behind the surprise. Said man was knocked off his feet as a powerful blow was struck directly towards his face. He fell backwards and clutched his cheek.
The team looked at Aldie with conflicted expressions. Anger. Confusion. Fear.
Gray looked up at the towering man before him. It was his fist that had painfully collided with his cheek, pushing the skin back hard to meet with the bone. It hurt terribly.
Gray growled at him. "Why. Did. You. Do. That." he seethed.
Aldie returned the expression with an equally fierce look. "Men. Seize him."
Without a word, numerous of the men behind Aldie charged towards Gray, who was on the ground. They brutally hoisted him off the ground and firmly held his arms behind his back, preventing him from escaping. They forcefully dragged him in their direction. The rest of the team now flared with outrage.
"Why are you doing this?!" Lucy demanded.
"We are ALL at fault for our disruption!" Erza yelled at him.
Wendy trembled in a combination of anxiety and rage. "I don't understand. Why are you taking him?!"
Aldie looked at the young girl before him. Wendy tried her best not to cower in front of his hard gaze.
"For the same reason you lot thrashed the borderline checkpoint: personal situations."
Natsu raised an eyebrow. Aldie noticed the dragon slayer's expression. He was quiet, but he was suspicious. He couldn't deny that he had a terrifying look in his eye. Aldie noticed the symbol on his right bicep. There was no mistaking it.
"You're all Fairy Tail wizards."
Happy looked appalled. "H-how did you-
"That emblem." Aldie pointed to the symbol emblazoned onto Natsu's shoulder, the same one as Lucy's hand, Erza's arm, Gray's pectoral, Wendy's shoulder, and the Exceeds' backs. They were all surprised by his awareness of their guild.
"But...how do you even know about us? We're from a whole other country altogether!" Lucy asked. Aldie didn't feel the need to answer. Instead, he glared at the restrained Gray.
"You..."
Gray scowled in return.
Aldie approached the shirtless boy, ever so slowly. "If you are wizards from Fairy Tail..."
Gray tsked as he felt a soldier tighten his hold on him.
"...then you must be familiar with this name."
He stopped, and knelt down just a little bit to meet with Gray's eye level, for Aldie was so much more superior in height. "Tell me." He looked straight into Gray's dark blue eyes, with a menacing glint in his own.
