Emma's POV
I like The Next Step, but It's hard being here. I'm a really shy person. I have a hard time meeting new people, and teaching . Dance is my passion, but teaching defiantly isn't. I only applied for the job because I needed a job. I need to open up, but I don't know how.~
Kate called me this morning and told me that she had come down with the flu and asked me if I would teach A Troupe today. I said yes, because this is my job. I walked into Studio A nervously. The dancers were already there, warming up and chatting.
"Okay dancers. Miss Kate is sick so I will be running A Troupe today. Are you all warm?" I asked.
"Yes," they chorused back.
"Um... Okay, great. Do you have a dance choreographed for Regionals?" I asked.
"Yes," the chorused again.
"Can you uh show it to me?" I asked.
"Yes," the chorused.
Giselle put on the music and everyone got into their spots. The dance was really good, but I did pick out a few technical errors that I corrected.
"Okay, let's take a 10 minute break before we run your finals routine," I said.
"Okay," the dancers said.
"Miss Emma, we are going to Hidalgos. Would you like anything?" Cierra asks.
"You don't need to call me Miss. Emma is fine. I'm fine, but thank you," I said.
"Okay," Cierra said before heading to catch up with Michelle.
I watch as the dancers leave. Carefree. Wait, I take that back. These kids work their butts off. They are so determined. Their parents must be so proud.
Stephanie's POV
I head down to Hidalgos. I get myself a drink a small snack."Are your parents coming to Regionals?" Riley asked me as I sat down at the table that most of A Troupe was sitting at.
"No, they don't care about dance. They don't understand dance. All they think about is work," I said.
"Oh, that's too bad. My parents are coming. Em wants to come too, but I think she wouldn't like it. I think she'll be frustrated that she's not on the team," Riley said.
I kept thinking about my parents as A Troupe kept talking. I heard them talk. At least one of each of their parents is coming to Regionals. Like I said, my parents don't care. They pay for everything, but that's all they do for me. Our chef cooks for me. We are wealthy, but I think I'd rather be poor and with my parents that rich and alone. I don't know when the last time I saw my parents was. It's December now. I think I saw them last on Thanksgiving. I hope I see them for Christmas. I feel alone.
Emma's POV
A couple days later Kate had a business thing, so guess who's subbing for A Troupe again. Yep, me. I'm getting for comfortable with A Troupe, but I'm still not super happy about teaching them."Alright, let's take a 10 minute break," I call.
"Emma, do you want to come to Hidalgos with us?" Giselle asked.
"No, I'm fine here,thanks," I said.
"Why not?" Giselle asked.
"I'm fine here," I said.
"Please," Giselle pleaded.
"Will you stop pestering me?" I asked playfully.
"Yes," Giselle said.
"Fine, I'll come," I agreed reluctantly.
"Yes!" Giselle exclaimed.
I followed Giselle to Hidalgos, and after getting over my shyness, I actually had a lot of fun. Their was karaoke going on, and a bunch of kids from A Troupe did it. It was quite fun to watch.
Eventually, I had to make the kids return to rehearsals.
