Escaping The Zombie Apocalypse

Chapter Two

(Carter's Point Of View)

After about an hour of us trying to distract ourselves by talking about anything else we pass this guy looking about our age alone, the streets look abandoned but destroyed at the same time, I tell Logan to slow down and I wind down my window, "Hey, you bitten?" I ask before anything else.

"No any of you?" he says and I shake my head.

"No, you want to come with us we're trying to find a place away from people that's safe and we would be able to set up to survive like a farm or something, you in?" I say,

"Yeah, why not it's better than hanging out here and waiting to become one of them." He says as Jayden opens the door for him to hop in. everyone goes back to what they were saying before I stopped the car, so I thought I should ask about this guy. "So what's your name?" 

"Milo, Milo Ault. You guys?" he asks looking around the car before I answered for everyone.

"Well I'm Carter Skeen, and this right here is my brother Logan," I say tapping him on the shoulder, "Next to you is Jayden Morris and her younger sister Dylan, next to Dylan is Jasper Lowe Jayden's boyfriend they've been dating for forever, in the back there squished to the left is Brooklyn Johnson next to her in the middle is Paige Davis and squished to the right is Teddy Panson this is his brother's car." I finish saying.

"Where's your brother?" Milo asks,

Teddy looks up and says one word that says everything Milo needs to know "Dead".

After hours of driving the car comes to a halt, I look around the car to see Dylan, Jayden, Brooklyn, Paige and Jasper asleep. I look at Logan as if to ask why the sudden stop and all he does is point to the gas, showing it was empty. Logan and Milo Jump out of the car and lift up the boot, only for one to yell "Fuck", as soon as I hear it I jump out and go around to the front of the car to see what all the fuss was about. "What's wrong?" I asked, 

"Nothing, Just the car's Stuffed." Hissed Logan,

"How is it stuffed?" I asked again still confused, 

"The gas has a hole in it and it has been leaking this whole time," Calmly said Milo,

"Does this mean we're going to have to walk?"

"Yup." answered Logan still seeming pissed,                               

"So we wake everyone and walk?" I asked still a little confused at how calm Milo is,

"That's the plan," Logan said sarcastically,

"Why don't we wait until daylight it's getting dark and we're in the middle of nowhere?" I asked, "Plus everyone else is asleep,"

"Fine," Logan finally seeming calm, "But we should at least have someone staying awake, just in case." Milo and I agree so we jump back into the car and try to get some sleep like the rest.

Waking up after restless sleep with a set of arms around me and a sore neck from sleeping bad, I turn to see whose arms around me and see Milo's body next to mine, I slightly nock him and he wakes up, "Huh?" He grumbles,

"You have your hands around me?" I said pointing to his arms around me,

"Oh shit, sorry I was cold last night and you looked so warm, Sorry,"

"Okay then," I said while looking out the window seeing the sun just rising, "We should wake up everyone else and start walking." I suggest to Milo only for him to awkwardly nod because of what I assume is the closeness of our faces.

I sit up and tap Logan on the shoulder a little harder than necessary and he wakes up with a jolt of shock and looks around with a sad smile and I understand instantly that he was hoping it was all a dream but he jumps up and and yells "Wake up, we've got a walk to do the car is stuff and we need to get a move on before what we just ran from catches up to us." he jumps out of the car, opens up the boot, grabs out Leo's bat that Dylan used and the bag we packed before we left the house and shut the boot again only for him to start walking ahead leaving us behind. 

Eventually the rest of us got out and started walking after him.
