Hey guys, its been a while since I uploaded so here's a chapter. Thanks to all the readers still reading, hope you enjoy ;)
“Come on, you can do it!” Tyler said enthusiastically. I couldn’t do it, I couldn’t force the change, I couldn’t change into my wolf.
“You’re nearly there!” he yelled interrupting my thoughts, I wasn’t nearly there, I heard another bone snap, unleashing a new wave of pain. I screamed out in agony, I could feel the hair pushing its way through my pores, my teeth sharpening and the colour fading. I shut my eyes and pressed on through the painful process, 57 out of 206 bones broken so far. I screeched louder as the 58th bone broke, a rib bone, I could feel a piece of it scraping gently against my lung.
“I can’t- I can’t do it!” I gasped. Sweat mixed tears rained down my face. Taylor was growling loudly pacing back and forth. Crrraack! There goes another bone but a mere groan was all that could escape my lips. Great, my jaw bone snapped. I felt dizzy and the room was growing darker.
Taylor was by my side telling me to stop the change, to breathe slowly and relax.
“What are you doing?” Tyler wailed as Taylor pushed a syringe into my already broken arm.
“Putting an end to this, she can’t do this” Taylor said his voice stone cold; he turned me onto my back.
“Yes she can to this, it’s her first change of course it hurts, it’s meant to.” He growled getting angry.
“Look at her chest!” Taylor yelled pointing to my chest where the rib bone pointed up at an awkward angle. “That bone is scratching her lung, push her any harder and you’ll puncture it, she’ll die.” Taylor snarled.
I my eyelids felt heavy and I gratefully gave in.
3 Days later…
I stood in a room filled with seven enormous wolves, each circled around me as Tyler held me in place.
“Try not to move, they just need your scent, freak them out and they’ll rip your arm off” he said, steadying me as the wolves moved closer to take a whiff.
“Why can’t anyone let that go, that brat freaked me out one time and I’m the bad guy for ripping off his arm, why do u think he has two of ‘em” a girl said as she strolled towards us.
Tyler growled as she came towards us.
“Down boy” she whispered seductively, pecking him on the cheek, I could feel his fingers close tighter around me.
“Get changed Andrea” Taylor snapped. “You need her scent too, can’t have you killing pack members.”
“I can smell her from here, if I kill her it won’t be an accident” she sneered, but changed anyway, bursting into wolf form.
She walked confidently up to me taking a deep long breath, inhaling my scent. She walked around Tyler, nudging him gently in the back before joining the others. They all stood awaiting the next order.
“Now it’s your turn.” Tyler said, taking a step back to give me space to change.
I didn’t focus on the pain, hard and fast, ripping muscles and snapping bones like they were toothpicks. There was a loud ripping sound and I howled loudly. Breaking into a fierce brown wolf, I could see their scents like different coloured smoke rising from each of them. I inhaled deeply, wisps of blue, purple and yellow smoke.
Getting to know them by name and by scent was easy enough. There was Katerina (known as kate), another set of twins or clones Aaron and Andrew, Jason, Lindsay who was shy, Derek, Andrea and her little brother, the youngest wolf Nate.
After a few hours spent bonding, I went to bed feeling tired yet happy for the first time in ages. I changed back to my human form and crawled into the bed Tyler and I shared. He refused to leave my side and I wasn’t objecting. I snuggled into his chest fitting together perfectly. I closed my eyes breathing in his scent.
“You did great today” he whispered softly into my ear, I lifted my head to get a better look at his face, his perfectly chiselled jaw line and long eyelashes, the way his whole face would relax when he slept. His grip tightened around my waist as I placed my head on his chest and drifted to sleep.
Call it a dream or a nightmare or whatever you want to call it, but all I know is it was real, I saw it.
There was a knock at the door, Tyler answered it, finding Derek and Taylor.
“April needs to come with us. Right now. It’s important” Derek said, in a monotonous voice, as if he were in a trance.
“She can’t, she’s asleep.” Tyler said clearly irritated.
“But she needs too!” Taylor whispered urgently, taking a step towards Tyler. Tyler blocked the doorway with his tall more muscular form.
Suddenly Derek grabbed him by the neck, pulling him out the door. And he was gone.
