The group that had followed us slowly peeled off in all directions once they realised we had no clue where we were going or what to do now.

“I want to walk” I whispered to Sebastian, we had been walking for what felt like miles.  He set me down gently, I sank to my knees and closed my eyes, trying to overcome the nausea. Daniel put his hands on my shoulders rubbing them slowly. “I’m ok, please.” I sniffed, I just wanted to be alone, I didn’t deserve to be comforted.

“We can camp here and rest” Sebastian said, sounding exhausted, I turned to him, he still refused to look me in the eye, I couldn’t take is any more.

“Sebastian, I want to talk to you” I said firmly. He didn’t answer, just turned and walked on as if he hadn’t heard what I had said.

“Sebastian!” I shouted, my heart was pounding and my mind was racing I wanted to talk about it, I just wanted to talk to him about what happened.

“What do you want me to say, huh Lexi?” he finally exploded. His eyes were red and his cheeks were flushed as if he had been crying, but Sebastian never cried, even when he was in pain, never even shed a tear.

“Do you want me to congratulate you? Well done Lexi you ruined our lives, almost got us killed and lost April, that’s right we all know it, this is all your fault, if you hadn’t killed those two scientists we wouldn’t be in this mess and we would still have April, so well done, give yourself a pat on the back.”  He turned and walked away.

I, just stood there frozen, it had hurt worse than I thought it would, just him spitting out those the words admitting out loud that it was all my fault, that he blamed me and despised me because of it, tears began to sting my eyes and roll down my cheeks, I deserved all of it. But what happened next was unexpected.

Sebastian suddenly dropped as if eaten by the sand. “Sebastian!” Daniel and I screamed simultaneously, I had almost forgotten he was here, but we both raced to where Sebastian had disappeared.

A guard appeared blocking our path to Sebastian, he had bronze skin and Indian black hair.

“You will come with me, my mistress would like to see you” he smiled.

“Where have you taken my brother” Daniel roared angrily, I had never seen him so angry, he stepped closer to the strange man, he was tall and muscular.

“Calm your selves son of Adam and daughter of Eve. You will see my mistress then we will decide what will become of you.”

He then turned and I saw that he was not human, he had four hooves, he was a centaur, the half man, half stallion.

He touched his hoof to the ground three times and a passage and steps opened up, leading down into the ground.
