Finally, it was my turn, a white coat moved slowly and cautiously towards me, I was curled, behind the bed. “Just come out April darling and everything will be ok” there was a second person entering the room. They walked towards me.

He grabbed me by the waist as I grabbed the bed frame, holding on with all my might, I thought about Alexis and Daniel and Sebastian. I suddenly went limp, realising I was all alone, “everything’s going to be ok” he murmured soothingly.

I allowed him to carry me out of the room and into one of the laboratories, Sebastian’s voice echoed in my head. I taught you to be strong, we’ll come back for you, I promise.   I sniffed as they strapped me into the chair and held my arm in a clasp, so I couldn’t pull away.

They brought out a small surgical blade and pierced my skin, I screamed loudly as the blade cut my skin, leaving a line of thick dark red blood. I remembered what Sebastian said about pain being weakness being driven out of the body, I clenched down on my teeth, so hard, I thought they would break, leaving me with broken white shards like shark teeth, but the pain was too much and I screamed out loud.

My screeching wail was only silenced, when I spasmed violently as they hit a nerve, my skin around my arm was drenched in blood. I could feel the soothing waves of darkness washing over me, dousing the fiery flames of pain, Was this what it was like to die?, this cool pale darkness, it felt wonderful.
