Hey guys! (Ha. As if anyone's actually going to read this story.)
This is my second ever fanfiction so be gentle, review and most importantly try to ENJOY (fingers crossed for that last part...)
Words in this chapter: 649
The cramped, hot air was sticking to every part of Dan's body. He could feel the warmth in his lungs, down his throat. The lights were flashing on and off in patterns of bright colours, lights swirling both in reality and in Dan's hazy mind. His mouth was dry but the liquid he drank only made it worse. His head was rolling, too heavy to be kept upright, as gravity had strengthened. His eyes were tired and drooping.
People were pushing against him from all angles, the room pulsating in time with the banging coming from the front. He was swaying and smiling to himself, his friends were all around him but most were even further along than Dan himself. He looked at the drink in his hand and deciding he didn't want to hold it anymore he simply let go, the plastic bouncing on the floor and the bright liquid inside spilling and joining the already damp, stained carpet. He patted one of his friend's shoulders and mumbled something incoherently about getting another drink, something she didn't understand nor did she seem to care.
Dan elbowed his way through the mass of bodies towards to the bar. He had to wait quite a while for his turn to order. Looking around the swaying room his eyes landed on a young man a little way down the bar, perched on one of the few bar stools. His brow was furrowed and his forehead was resting on his left hand, his right was busy tracing the rim of his brandy snifter with a pool of dark golden liquid inside. Dan couldn't bring himself to tear his eyes away from this man. His face looked soft to touch. His features seemed naturally delicate yet they looked warped and harsh with the emotion of disgust painted across them. His eyelashes were pale and thin, his eyebrows were well groomed but again pale, a contrast to his unnaturally black, glossy hair. Sometimes the lights would shine white and Dan could see blue hair peeking out from the underside of the man's fringe. The man had spider bite piercings on his lower lip. His lips were pale and not very full, but they still looked inviting. Dan wondered what it might be like to kiss someone with lip piercings, would they get in the way? He wanted to gently suck them, and push his tongue inside the man's mouth and let it dance. He had intricate tattoos snaking across his arms and up his neck to his jaw line, which seemed to complete him and add to his beauty rather than disturb it.
He hadn't looked away from his glass in the few minutes Dan had been blatantly staring at him, though even from this distance he could probably feel the attention. Dan watched him pick up his glass and swirl the liquid around before tipping it into his mouth in one large gulp. Dan was a lightweight when it came to drinking and usually he had trouble focusing on anything, but he watched the bulge caused by the drink in the mans throat travel down as if in slow motion, his Adams apple prominent. A drop of the golden mixture catching in the corner of his mouth which the man's index finger wiped away. Dan felt content to stare at the man for the rest of time, the alcohol hazing the outskirts of his vision, making the beautiful figure the only thing in focus in Dan's life. It was only when someone elbowed him in the ribs and asked if he was "ever going to fucking order" that Dan managed to pull himself, somewhat brutally he thought, from his personal exhibition and order another drink. Dan spun on his heel with another plastic tumbler in his hand ready to resume his study of this beautiful creature but he was nowhere to be seen.
Okay, so I called this a 'prologue' because I don't think it should really count as a chapter and Dan basically just stands and stares for the whole thing and you guys already know what Phil looks like so...
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it, please review for free sickly blue drinks in plastic tumblers (yay!)
