The four of us had come up with different buildings, names for specific departments, and different assigned jobs. We had received more shipments, more supplies, and more greenies. Everything was sorted out, the rest of the building ideas started to come into place, and everyone had their own specific rank as to who and what they would be doing in the Glade from now on.

I was walking through the Glade, drawing out our plan for the kitchen. We knew it would be more ideal to set aside specific areas for storing food and keeping some cooler beneath the soil.

"How's it coming, Lynn?" Newt called out from behind my figure.

I glanced over my left shoulder for a split moment to see him with his arms crossed over his chest. "Well," I paused for a moment, finishing up my drawing. "We can start building soon," I finished before turning over to face him. "And you, accent thriller," I paused for a moment. "You are going to be a runner." I finished as I began to walk towards the Homestead.

"Don't call me that," Newt ordered, a slight huff escaping his chest.

I felt a cheeky grin lift at the corners of my mouth.

"Anything but that."

I let out a snicker.

"You're laughing at me. Why are you laughing at me?" He questioned furiously, walking at my right side as I looked off to the Glade with a smile, avoiding eye contact.

"I'm not laughing at you."

He scoffed at my statement, nudging my shoulder as he walked past me.

"I wasn't laughing at you!" I hollered, watching as he shook his head in disappointment.

"You old shank!"

The rest of us had all found our way to rest for the night. The boys in the Homestead, whilst I decided to sleep in my hammock. I needed some time alone, time to think, and time to reassure myself we would find a way out without a doubt. I need that reassurance to continue pushing myself to the limit.

"You okay?"

A familiar voice rumbled low.

Footsteps approached the hammock to the right of mine. I looked over to see the face of Gally, concerned and restless, climbing into the open hammock.

"Who isn't?"

I got a half-hearted chuckle in response.

"Who knows where we're all going," Gally added, placing his hands at the back of his head as a resting tool for his shoulders, getting a better look at the stars.

We stayed quiet for just a moment. Just silence allowed our minds to take a breather.

"Can I ask you something?" Gally had questioned as I turned my head to face him for reassurance.

"Yeah," I breathed out. "What is it?"

His gaze met mine for a still moment. "Do you," he paused, concentrating on his thoughts. "Do you ever have any dreams?"

I turned my head away from his line of sight, my vision full of leaves from the trees above me and a sky full of stars.

"Yeah? Every so often." I shifted slightly, letting out a hitched breath.

"No, like," he paused, thinking to himself. "Dreams that seem too real. Almost as if they were memories. True memories."

Our eyes met, yet again, but a more familiar understanding was growing between us now. I looked down at my hands, fiddling with the tips of my fingers.

"Well," I paused. "I have had a few... sparingly." I shifted my head slightly, bringing my hands to the back of my head. "You have?"

"Not enough to make any sense of it."

I furrowed my brows slightly, feeling a sense of hopelessness. "That makes two of us."

Gally drew a breath before releasing it. He lifted himself up from the hammock, his feet meeting the ground beneath him. "Night, Lynn."

"Night, Gally."

I watched as he walked away, my mind going through all the odd and illicit memories that only came every so often. I focused my eyes back on the view above me, a slight gust of wind causing the leaves to dance ever so slightly.

Will we ever get out of this shank of a place?
