Chapter 3: Invited

Jessica's POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off then turned it off. As I was getting out of bed I thought about how nice and great Aaron was. He's really nice and he's a great friend. As I was getting dressed I had a great idea. Since my boyfriend, Garroth was in town visiting his dad for the year I decided I would invite him and Aaron over for dinner at my house

J: Hi Garroth!😊

G:Hey Babe

J:So I was wondering since you're in town if you wanted to come over to my house for dinner tonight.

G:Sure that would be cool. What time?

J:Um be here at 6:00 ok?

Next I texted Aaron to make sure he could come over.

J:Hey Aaron

A:Hey Jessica.

J:So I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my house for dinner tonight.

A:Oh okay cool what time?

J:6:00 oh and my boyfriend, Garroth, is coming over too.

A:Y-Your b-boyfriend?

J:Yeah! You're okay right?

Hmm I wonder what's wrong with Aaron. I finished getting dressed and went downstairs I hugged my parents and told them that, Garroth, and Aaron were coming over then left for the bus stop for school.

Aaron's POV

I was downstairs with my mom when she asked me what was wrong since I was playing with my food. "Honey, what's wrong?" I sighed then said "It's nothing mom I'm okay." "Well okay I just wanna make sure. Oh you better get going it's 7:45! Well, see you after school honey!" "Bye mom..." I was walking to school and started listening to "Sad" by Maroon 5 cause that's how I felt now that I know Jessica has a boyfriend

Man, it's been a long day

After the first time the song was over it started to rain. I got mad cause I didn't have an umbrella and my hair got wet and so did my clothes. "Damnit!!!!" I yelled out as thunder and lightning started to begin. Luckily, I was close to the school so I ran inside before I could get any wetter. As I walked in I saw my other friends Max and Cindy. Max looked at me with wide eyes and Cindy just said "Woah Aaron! You look awful, what happened to you man?" I walked away since I didn't feel like explaining what was wrong with me.

(10 mins before lunch)

Jessica's POV
I went to my locker to put my books away and get ready for lunch when a group of girls came up to me and started to talk about me right in front of me. They kept whispering things like "Ew looser alert" and "She'll never be popular,". I finished putting my stuff and I was about to go to the cafeteria when the girls were blocking my way. I sighed then asked "What do you want?" The blonde one scoffed at me and said, "Ha! Why would we want anything from you? Nobody wants anything from a looser, right girls?" "Right Rachel!" The red head said. They all laughed and a few of them pointed and I started to shed a few tears.

"Aw what's wrong? Sad because you're such a looser and how no one will ever li-" "That's enough!!" a loud voice boomed through the hall. "W-Who said that?" Rachel asked as she quivered in fear. "It was me," the person said as they walked towards us. When the person got closer I immediately recognized who it was......Aaron. "A-Aaron?!" Rachel asked in surprise as to whom it was. Rachel scoffed then said "Why are you even defending her?" she whispered to him acting as if I couldn't hear her, "she's just a looser!"

"No she isn't Rachel. She's an amazing person...now leave and leave her alone!" He said as his hair shined off the light in the hall which shone on the few rain drops still in his coal black hair. She gasped then scoffed again and said, "Hmph fine c'mon girls lets go." They walked away and went into the cafeteria leaving Aaron and I in the hallway.

"A-Aaron w-why did you stand up for m-me?" I asked trying not to anger him since he still seems pretty upset. He sighed heavily then looked at the ground and said, "No one deserves to be treated with disrespect. No matter who it is...." "O-Oh well thanks anyway." "Yeah....No problem." He started walking off and he was about to open the door to the cafeteria when I stopped him and said, "Hey Aaron!" "Yeah Jessica?" "Would be okay if I sat at your table with you?" He didn't say anything for a while and I started to worry, but then he said, "U-Uh y-yeah s-sure." I smiled then walked towards the door with him and we went into the cafeteria.
