(Y/N)'s POV

...

The pain I waited never came, instead I started to hear heavy breathing. In complete confusion,I opened my eyes, only to let them become wide with shock.

Before me,stood the man with icy blue eyes,he was gripping the blade tightly, fresh blood was dripping on the ground. His eyes were filled with fury, yet I saw hints of concern.

My grip around the katana loosened and he was now able to pull the sword out of my hands, tossing it behind his back.I still stood there,an expression of shock on my face, unable to move.

"Are you out of your mind?!" he suddenly yelled, anger clearly heard in his voice.

His tone only made me widen my eyes more,I was suddenly pushed against the tree,he slammed his good hand above my head, looking down on me,the burning rage in his eyes.

"You don't just kill yourself like that!" he yelled, his tone a bit calmer.

I gathered myself, how did he dare to say something like that to me,isn't he the one who wants me dead?

"Hey!You can't tell me what to do!I don't even know you!" My tone rose.

He didn't say a word as he lowered his eyes, sorrow on his face.

"Don't say that you don't know me,you do,but you just can't remember." he said quietly, his voice sad.

What does he mean by that?

He suddenly rested his forehead on mine and locked his beautiful eyes into mine,I was...facinated,unable to look away, unable to push him away.

"Try to remember, for me." he said, quietly again.

"W-why should I do it for you?" I stuttered,my voice quiet as well, still unable to look away.

"Because..." he started, but then he lowered his eyes and lifted his forehead from mine. "...Nevermind." he said, not telling me what he actually wanted to say, that annoyed me.

He turned and took a few steps forward, then he stopped, his back still facing me.

"I can't let you die, that's why I saved you right now." he said.

"But didn't you want to kill me the last time I saw you?" I interrupted.

"I need to be the one who kills you,but I'm not sure wheather I can do it or not." he said.

"What do-" I was cut off.

"That's exactly because of the things you can't remember!" he interrupted me.

There was silence between us.

"Please,just...try to remember." his voice was almost begging.

"Why do you want me to remember anyways?" I curiously asked.

No reply...

Then,he was gone,he simply dissapeared...

I walked to the sword and picked it up,blood running down the blade.

I rested my back against the tree and sat down, pressing my knees against my chest, wrapping my arms around my legs, resting my forehead on my knees.

I was tired...I didn't know what to do...everything just seemed so...pointless.

I blankly raised my head and looked towards Mikage shrine, without a reason really.

My heart skipped a beat as my eyes widened slightly.

Dark blue miasma...A yokai?

My heart started beating faster as I looked at my fingers.

"It's fine,Tomoe's strong,he can protect himself and Nanami, there's no doubt..." I said to myself.

After a bit of fighting with myself,I shot up and grabbed the katana while damning myself under my breath,I knew I was going to regret this,it was only going to be harder to leave that way.

-Timeskip to Mikage shrine-

I arrived, panting slightly as I glared at the huge creature before me.And then I saw Tomoe, fighting with it,Nanami was nowhere in sight.

"Need help?" I almost mockingly asked as I landed next to Tomoe, acting as if I hadn't dissapeared in the first place,as if I didn't care, but I did.

He stared me with a shocked expression for a moment, then he jumped back as he was almost hit by the yokai.

I chuckled as I shot a red lightball at it...the yokai instincts were sneaking in.

Tomoe ordered me to go inside several times,I ignored him every time.

After we had destroyed the yokai,I simply grinned, the yokai side had fully forced its way out.

"Looks like my job here's done,I'm o-" I was cut off by a pair of strong arms which wrapped around me.I stiffened.

I widened my eyes, and I could almost feel them return to their original colour.

"T-Tomoe?"I stuttered in surprise.

"Don't ever do something like that again." he almost whispered.

"Y-you should go and see if Nanami's fine." I said.

"She's okay." he said while tightening his grip around me.

Without realizing,I melted into his grip and gently tugged the collar of his kimono, resting my head on his chest.

He was so warm and soft,I hated to admit that I loved this feeling.

'I just...want to stay like this for a little.'
