We walked in silence for a few hours. I was walking ahead with Zedd walking solemnly beside me, growling at every faint noise. Quinnie hissed every now and then and I could hear Corey breathing heavy as we trekked ahead, trying to put as much distance between us and that place. Every now and then Zedd would try and talk to me, but I wasn't in the mood to talk. Eventually he just gave up. I only spoke when I saw the sun going down in the distance. "Its getting dark." I said loud enough for everyone to hear me. "We should set up some sort of camp for tonight then keep going in the morning." Corey didn't say anything but Zedd agreed and said Quinnie did too. I think Corey is mad at me. I said to Zedd with our link. Why would you think tha
that? My fox said back. Well, I said pushing away a branch. he hasn't spoken to me since I burnt down the clearing. I think he is either scared or mad. Im scared he doesn't trust me anymore. Zedd was silent for a moment.
We shall deal with that when the time comes.

A little while longer we came upon a clearing that was large enough to hold us all but not big enough to hold an ambush. There was a pile of wood under a tree and I picked it up and piled it in the middle. It took a couple more trips because Corey wouldn't help me at all. He just stood at the clearings edge, staying a safe distance away from me. I pursed my lips and stepped away from the wood. I raised my hand and from my fingers came a small string of flame. I wanted Corey to see that my fire wasn't always destructive. I made the flames twist and turn around the clearing making shapes that danced and swam. It curled around the trees and ran across the grass. It twisted upwards towards the tip of the pillars of wood and once it touched the top peice of wood and made the whole pile of firewood exploded into a pillar of light and heat. I turned around to look at Corey but he was still standing just outside the ring of light. I sighed and turned towards the fire again. I looked through my bag for some food but of course there was none. I suddenly had an idea. Zedd? I asked. Can you please ask Quinnie if Corey is a vegetarian or a vegan? A few moments later Zedd replied. No.
Good. That was I probably wouldn't have to do something selfish. I walked towards the trees in search for dinner.
