Steve's POV

"How many hostages?" I asked.
"Twenty-five. Twenty-three are deck members and two officers." Natasha said, bringing up their profiles.
When ______'s face came up it all clicked. She hadn't been answering my calls or texts.
"What's _______ doing on a ship like this?" I asked.
"Mission from Fury?" Natasha guessed, shrugging her shoulders.

_______'s POV

I was sat among the other crew members, my mission compromised as I tried to uncover the mole. Unfortunately there was already other plans, but my cover wasn't blown.
I was 'ensuring crew members were safe and secure'
"One of the women here has a connection to Captain Rogers." One of the men said.
I gulped.
"She looks guilty and nervous." Another man said pointing at me.
I was grabbed by my ponytail and dragged up.
I groaned in pain.
"The boss wants her." The third man said.
"What do you think he's going to do?" One asked.
"Use her to weaken Cap. Unless he doesn't love her enough." Another said as they dragged me out of the room.
"Let her go!"
"Leave her alone!" Some of the crew members shouted after me.

As I was dragged onto the deck the harsh night wind hit me.
I shuddered from the cold.
"Let her go!" A familiar voice shouted above us.
"The hostages are in play!" Another familiar voice, quieter than the last one.
I struggled in the grip of my captor as they tightened their hold, one around my neck and the other on my waist.
It was definitely gunna bruise in the morning.
"I said. Let her go!" The familiar voice said, sounding closer.
"Just go Cap. I'll be fine." I said, as loud as possible over the grip cutting off my air.
"There's three of us and only one of you Rogers." The one to my right sneered.
"Two." Natasha's familiar voice said.
There were two gun shots and the men either side of me feel, grunting out their final breaths.
My captor spun us around just as Natasha fired a third and final shot.
As the bullet embedded in my stomach, my captor released me and Natasha dropped the gun she was holding.
She rushed to my side as I saw Steve's shield blur over us and hit my fleeing captor.
"I'm sorry! I'm so so sorry!" Natasha begged, placing pressure on my abdomen.
"Your ok. We'll all be ok." I mumbled.
"Evac in thirty seconds." Nat's radio said.
"Have a medic ready and waiting." Natasha said into the radio.
I nodded at her as I let the blackness consume me.
- - - -
"Is she ok?" Natasha's familiar voice asked.
"Doctors said she could wake up in a few days and she is fine, no vital organs." Steve's tired voice carried out.
"I'm sorry Steve." She said.
"You didn't know." He said.
"If I had calculated it more, I would have known he would have turned around."
"He could have killed her from the marks on her neck, from lack of air supply. I-" he started.
"It isn't your fault Nat." I croaked out, opening my eyes.
A smile, a one a child wore at Christmas lit up both their faces as they hovered above me.
"Are you ok?" Nat asked.
"Never felt more alive." I smiled.
Natasha laughed, which was a rare sound on the ears as Steve beamed happily.
"I'm so glad your ok." He smiled, pecking my forehead.

Omg!! 13 days until Christmas and its snowing!!! I'm such a child at heart :) anything to get me out of the miserable life of a winters cold... Thank you for reading :)
