The same hunched over figure sat at the bar.
Drowning his sorrows in a bottle of beer.
Order after order.
Always stumbling out of the door at the end of the night.
Drunk and Disorderly.
When he finally decided to call it a night.
Normally after closing time... but I never complained.
.
"The usual?" I asked as he sat at the bar again.
"Logan." he grunted.
"I'm sorry?" I asked, pulling out his preferred beer bottle from the fridge.
"Logan." he said, his tone introducing.
"Oh. Well Logan I'm _______." I smiled, sliding his beer across the bar top before walking over to serve an awaiting customer.
"What's a pretty girl like you working in a dump like this?" the man flirted.
"My father owned this place." I said, not looking up as I fulfilled his order for him and his friends.
"Surely you could knock off early and stay the night at mine." he flirted.
He was repulsive.
"No thanks. I prefer to choose my men... not have orders thrown around me." I said, sliding his drinks towards him.
"Come on sweetheart. I know your desperate." he winked.
"Leave her alone." Logan's familiar voice rung out.
I glanced over at Logan to see him push himself off of his chair into a defensive stance.
"And what are you going to do about it? Old man?" the man sneered.
His friends cheered him on but never dared to step closer when Logan flexed his muscles.
"Wouldn't want you running home crying to your Mummy would we now?" Logan chuckled darkly.
"Yeah? I'd like to see you try."
"Boys can we take this outside please?" I asked as I looked around the bar watching the regulars watch the interaction carry on out.
"I'm no boy."
"Your acting like one." I pointed out.
"All you had to do s*** was to come home with me tonight and do your d*** job!" he shouted in frustration.
There was an almost inhumane growl from Logan as what looked like metal talons extended from his knuckles.
"You're- You're the-" the boy hiccupped, fear flooding his face.
Fear too surrounded me.
Engulfing me.
"The Wolverine." Logan snarled before charging at the man.

"Logan?" I asked, tending to his wounds.
They were minor.
But the man had managed to lay a few small, weak and pathetic punches to Logan.
"You should fear me. Run away." he grumbled.
"Well I'm not."
And I spoke the truth.
He no longer scared me.
I was no longer afraid of him.
"I scared off all your business." he said, as he watched me stand up from crouching next to him and walk over to the bar.
"The regulars will be back." I said, selecting his favourite beer.
Hopefully.
"I can go get them back. It's the least I can do." he said.
"Nope. I think we have done enough Hulking around for one night." I chuckled handing him his beer.
"Thanks." he said, smiling slightly up at me.
And my heart stopped.
"Anytime... just please take it outside next time." I giggled.
