Steve Rogers #9

Steve's POV

I was to go on another mission with Sam to find Bucky and bring him home. It had been eight long months and every time we gained a lead, we would draw up a blank. I hate coming home to provide disappointing news of another failed mission. I hate to think that Bucky is out there alone, without me by his side. We promised to be by each others side until the end of the line and I intend to keep that promise until my last breath. He is my best friend.

I knew it was hard for my daughter whenever I went of for missions, she was a daddy's girl. I knew she also found it hard when her mother Natasha (Your Welcome :D) also went on missions, but mine were normally longer. They were finished quickly but I couldn't bring myself to go home and provide the news of another failed mission. I could see the hurt and heartbreak on my daughters face as she knew it would mean I would have to leave again until I succeeded with the mission.

I sighed as I walked along the corridor towards _____'s bedroom in the Avengers Tower. I hated to break the news to her that I would be gone tomorrow. And that I didn't know how long it would be until I returned.

I knocked lightly on her door.

"S***!" a familiar male voice muffled, followed by heavy shuffling.

I barged into _____'s room thinking there would be a potential threat, placing her in danger. Yet I really wished I hadn't barged in like that as I knew I would never get that sight out of my mind.

"Dad!" ____ shouted as she pulled her dress down, Jason Stark sat up bolt right in the bed, with the sheets pulled thoroughly over the top of him.

"What's going on here?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.

"You can't tell me what to do anymore Dad. I'm not a child anymore. I'm nineteen and I can make my own decisions and I do not need to be told what I can an can't do." she exclaimed.

"I need to talk to you." I sighed.

Jason shuffled around on the bed, before pressing a kiss to _____'s forehead and scurrying out of the room giving us some privacy.

"Your leaving again aren't you?" She asked.

"Yes, I need to find Uncle Buck." I sighed, stopping myself before I sat on the bed beside her.

"You can sit Dad, nothing happened." she giggled slightly at my nervous actions.

I blushed as I pulled her tightly into my side in a tight hug.

"Why do you have to go? If Uncle Bucky hadn't have gone AWOL after he was released from his Cryotank thing by that stupid Wakandan King then you wouldn't be gone for so long and despite how much I miss him, we all would know he was safe." she cried, letting her guard down and a tear slipped slowly down her cheek.

"King T'Challa was following my orders. Bucky was innocent and proven. He was no longer in danger and he was not a threat. He did not need to be locked away in that tank for eternity." I said.

She sighed.

"I will bring him home, to where he belongs." I said, rubbing her back lightly.

"Will you punch him for me. Tell him its from me?" she asked, laughing slightly.

I knew she didn't mean it.

"I promise." I promised.

"Sir." Jason said, holding onto _____'s hand.

"You may be a Stark but I trust you not to break my daughters heart. But if I hear any different you and I will be having some issues." I said sternly.

"I would never, I love your daughter Sir." he said, _____ looking up at him lovingly.

"You may have been dating for a year but I do not want any grandchildren just yet."

"Your old enough to be a great grandfather." Tony shouted from where he stood.

"Steve, we will be fine." Nat smiled, rubbing my arm lightly.

"Bring him home." _____ whispered.

"I will my little miracle." I whispered.

Her eyes sparkled with tears at her nickname from birth as she wrapped her arms tightly around me.

Neither Nat nor I thought we would be able to have children because of our past. But we were blessed by our beautiful daughter.

No matter how much she demanded she was an adult, and could make her own decisions, I knew she was still a little child at heart.
