The Night Of The Comet
I lay in bed as Elena wrote in her diary, the same as every morning. She'd never show me inside of course but I assume it's only Stefan drama.

I looked over at the already dressed Elena and mentally groaned at the thought of school, more importantly the thought of having to be friendly to Stefan. I realise I don't have much to go on so all I can really do is be cautious and look out for anything that can prove my suspicions.

Elena looked up continuing to write in her diary. I quickly closed my eyes pretending to be asleep, hoping to get a few more minutes.

"Come on Ari I know your awake." She spoke causing me groan loudly burying myself under the blankets before feeling something hard hit off my arm.

"Up." She ordered before walking out.

I could hear Jenna's voice coming from the hall as I attempted to peel myself from my bed.

"Do I look adult? As in respectfully parental." She asked Elena.

"Depends where your going." Elena replied.

"Jeremy's parent teachers conference." Said Jenna. I stood up and made my way to the hall, leaning against the doorframe of my bedroom.

"Hair up or down?" Jenna asked as she held her hair up.
"Sexy Stewardess." Elena commented and Jenna let her hair down.
"Boozy housewife."

"Up it is." Jenna sighed causing me to smile. "Your feisty today." She said to Elena which was true. She was acting overly happy, a very unusual mood for her lately.

"I just feel happy, which is rare so I've decided to go with it." Elena smiled in response.

"Wouldn't be over a certain someone would it?" I smirked as I made my way to the bathroom. On the inside I wasn't too keen on the idea but I've decided I'm not going to dampen her mood with my uncertainty.
She rolled her eyes as I walked passed her but I could see a hint of a smile on her face.
I closed the bathroom door, still listening in on Elena and Jenna's conversation.
"Where is Jeremy anyway?" I could hear Elena ask.
"Something about getting to the wood shop early to finish a bird house." Said Jenna. I zoned out after that. I mean, of course he wasn't at a wood shop, that's the last place Jeremy would be with Vicky lying in hospital.

After having a shower and getting dressed I made my way to school still dreaming of my bed.

I sat in Mr. Tanners class bored as ever not really concentrating on the subject. Something about comets. I looked at a smiling Elena and followed her gaze to Stefan, who was wearing the same expression.

"Are we bothering you, Mr. Salvator, Miss. Gilbert?" Asked asshole. I rolled my eyes and went back to doodling in my textbook when the bell rang. I shot up from my seat ready to run for the door when Mr.Tanner stopped me.

"I need to speak with you Miss. Gilbert." He stated. I looked up slowly hoping he was talking to Elena only to see him staring directly at me. I slowly walked over to his desk as everyone else left.

"Now, Arianne." He started. I cringed at the use of my full name, the only people who would call me Arianne was my dad...and Mr. Tanner. " Your grades haven't been going so well. Is there any reason as to why?" He asked the most dumfounded question I've ever heard. I breathed heavily in an attempt to calm myself.
