Chapter 7

Family Ties
I walked down to the kitchen to get coffee when I noticed Jenna talking to herself.

"The animal terrorising mystic falls has been caught." The news guy said on the TV. 'The animal' more like the very attractive vampire that's banging my best friend. I'm probably expected not to move from my door or something, that I would be afraid of Damon but in truth, I wouldn't give him the satisfaction. If he would have hurt me he would have done it when he had the chance. Thanks to Stefan, he didn't.

"Scum ball, scum bucket." Jenna rambled on.

"Who are you talking to?" I asked concerned as she watched the news.

"Him." She pointed towards the Tv.

"The news guy?" I looked at her questioningly.

"Also known as Logan 'scum' fell." She scoffed. "Did your mom ever tell you why I moved away from mystic falls?" She asked looking away from the TV.

"Him? No way." I laughed. "He's cute." I smirked going to make my coffee.

"He is not cute, there's nothing cute about him." She grimaced switching off the TV.

"Looks like he did you over big time." I smirked raising my eyebrows. Elena came into the kitchen bringing a box to the table as she started to clean it.
"What's that?" I asked curiously also drawing Jenna's attention to what she was doing.

"I went yesterday and got it from the safe deposit box. Mom had told Mrs. Lockwood she would loan it to the founders council for their heritage display." She explained as I filled up my mug with coffee.

"Is that grandma Beth's wedding ring." Jenna questioned picking up a ring from the box, examining it. I took a sip of my coffee as I walked over to the pair.

"Originally it was great-great-grandma Mary's wedding ring." Elena explained while Entered the room.

"How much do you think this stuff is worth? You know, like on eBay." He asked picking up what looked like a watch.

"You're not gonna find out." Sighed Elena leaning forward to grab the watch from his grasp.

"That stuff is mom and dad's. You can't just give it away." He stated going to the fridge. The swelling on Jeremy face had gone down massively. All that could be seen was a cut on his lip and slight bruising under his eye. He promised me he'd stay out of  Tyler's way in future but if he started on him again I'd kick his ass myself.

"I'm not giving it away, it's called a loan Jeremy." Elena pointed out but I'd be worried they'd somehow 'lose' them.

The doorbell rang so Elena got up to answer it. I sat down in her seat continuing to drink my coffee while I examined the box she left. She didn't come back in so I assumed she went upstairs. When I was finished I went up to get changed. I was about to walk in to my room before I came to a halt. Elena and Stefan were making out on my bed. Why my bed? Elena has a perfectly fine one right next to mine.
I tiptoed my way into the bathroom not wanting them to notice me.I haven't seen or spoken to Stefan since I found out what he is so I've been googling a lot; though I'm pretty sure they don't sparkle in the sun.

I got washed and walked out of the bathroom to my bedroom. They're both connected so it's not like I had to walk far. Thankfully It was only Elena in the room which meant Stefan had already left.
