A woman twirled around as she found the wedding dress of her dreams. “Oh I love it! Thank you! I want it!” She hugged Liliana tightly. “It has to be mine!” She stared at herself in the three way mirror.
“Hey, if you feel it’s the one, it’s all yours.”
“Just as soon as you get the check for it,” the bride-to-be’s mother joked.
All the women laughed.
“Oh yes! My mother will gladly pay for it.”
The older woman rolled her eyes. “Yes, anything for you, honey.” She looked at Liliana. “OH and congratulations on your marriage, sweetie.”
“Oh thank you so much,” Liliana replied sweetly. “I’ll go get the paperwork ready for your dress.”
Liliana left the woman alone in the dressing area. She walked to her office and saw Micah sitting in her chair, drawing a picture. “Hey kiddo, what ya’ drawing?” She walked behind the chair and leaned over to see his masterpiece.
“Just a picture of you and Daddy getting married,” he said coloring in her dress red.
Liliana noticed her stomach was a little round in the picture. “Baby am I really that fat?”
Micah laughed and looked up at his mother. “No Mommy. You’re pregnant with my little brother.”
“What?”
Micah touched Liliana’s stomach and then kissed it.
She smiled down on him. “Who told you I was pregnant?” she asked giving up the clueless act.
“Grandmother accidentally told me.”
Liliana rolled the chair back. “Get up.”
Micah hopped out of the chair and she made herself comfortable before putting him on her lap. She put her hand on his forehead and tried to get him to lean back on her but he pulled away.
“No mommy.”
“What Papa?”
“I don’t want to hurt the baby.”
Liliana laughed. “Micah, I’m not that far into the pregnancy. I wanted to wait to tell you until I was at least showing.”
“So I can still lay on your tummy at night?”
“Yes baby. The baby is this small,” she said pinching her fingers together.
“Oh wow. That’s really little. He must have super tiny eyes. He probably can’t see anything.”
