Sarah's POV
Brendon, I miss you so much. I wake up to a gentle shake, still in a state of sleep, and turn to Brendon, smiling up at him with closed eyes. "Bren, it's early."
"But sweety, we need to get going." That's not Brendon. But if its not him, then who . . ? I open my eyes and try to attack the stranger in my bed, but realize he's not there. I see a familiar face standing in the corner. Josh.
"Oh, its you." I growl at him. "What do you want?" I want to be asleep. It's the only place I can see Brendon."Someone's a little bitchy this morning . . ." Josh snickers. I look at him with anger. "Do you have your resume? I need to be at work in five minutes." I point at the dresser vaguely and turn over to go back to sleep. He leaves and I return to my peace.

I wake up, again, to the sound of music, but it's coming from my phone. I check the ID, it's 604 records. OH MY GOD HE ACTUALLY SCORED ME A JOB! I pick up the phone and collect myself.
"Hello?" I answer with fake nonchalance. I hope I don't sound like I just woke up . . .
"Hello. Is this Miss. Zeal?" A woman's voice answers on the other end.
"Yes it is. Are you calling about a job position?" I ask, maybe a little too eagerly.
"Actually, yes I am. Josh dropped off your resume this morning. He told me you were very passionate about music. It's a wonder that he hasn't tried to sign you already, but he probably hasn't even told you he's famous yet . . . he's so modest." Wait. What??? JOSH RAMSAY IS FAMOUS? I can't let this happen again. No no no.
"Oh." Is all I say and then there's another awkward silence. Great! Just fucking fantastic.
"So are you free to come in for an interview today?" The woman says finally. I nod and then realize she can't see me.
"Of course! What time?" I ask, sounding over enthused.
"How's . . . 10:30 for you?" She thinks about it first, making sure she's free, I'm guessing.
"That'll be great. I'll see you soon." I say and hang up. I check the time, 9:30. I can do this in an hour! I quickly shower and grab some professional looking clothes. 10:00. According to what Josh said earlier, it only takes five minutes to get there. So I'll be early, then. I grab the keys and put on my black converse.
I get to the 604 Records building at 10:15. Josh must drive fast, because that took me ten minutes not five. I walk into the building, and am immediately greeted at the door by Josh and Mike. So Mike is famous too? Dammit.
"You look great!" Josh smiles at me and walks me through the door.
"I don't like flattery. Especially not from people who lie to me . . . " I glare at him and walk up to the front desk, smiling at the secretary. "Were you the one who called me?"
"Yes, ma'am." She smiles at me warmly. "Are you ready for your interview?"
"Yes, of course." I smile back, politely. Josh walks up behind me and puts a hand on my shoulder. I shrug it off, annoyed with him still.
"Follow me." He says, leading me down a hallway and up a few flights of stairs. "You get to meet Chad Kroeger, I hope you're ready. Also, I never lied, I just omitted the truth."
"Who's Chad Kroeger?" I ask, ignoring his last comment.
"Ever heard of the band Nickelback? He's the lead singer." Josh smirks at me and almost looks like he's going to pat my head, but also knows I'd chew off his hand if he did.
"OK. Cool." I offer and we finally enter an office on the third floor at the end of a sketchy looking hallway.
"Good luck. I'll wait outside for you." Josh winks and stands outside the door. I close it, rolling my eyes. This Kroeger guy can't be that bad.
"Welcome to Canada, Ms. Zeal. May I call you Sarah?" I hear a raspy voice from behind me. I quickly turn and take a seat across from a muscular guy with longish, blond hair. This must be him.
"You can call me whatever you like, so long as you help me find a job. If not here, then somewhere else." I sigh, extending my hand to shake his.
"Well, I enjoy your enthusiasm. Josh tells me that you're very passionate about music, but that something from your past is troubling you, maybe keeping you, from reaching your full potential." Chad makes no hesitation, just openly plops the information out there.
"I'd like to think I could be famous, if I wanted to be. But I don't. Want to be famous, that is." I smile sadly. "It ruins people. I would know." I think back to Brendon. If he wasn't famous, I never would have met him.
"I won't ask you how you know, " Chad chuckles lightly. "But I will ask why you feel you would do good work here."
"Like Josh told you, I'm quite passionate about music, and I can do simple tasks, like getting coffee, photo copying and running errands." I think I hit it on the nose, because Chad laughs and sticks out his hand again for a shake. I take it.
"You've got the job in your pocket." He smiles. We both stand and he walks me to the door. "How soon can you start?"
"Any time!" I smile and open the door. I'm sure Josh was listening because he gives me a smile.
"Tomorrow at 7 works?" Chad asks. I nod, glad that I'm turning over a new leaf so soon.
