Ava's pov

Ashton held me tightly and Kaya raised the knife, ready to plunge it into me. I looked away, over to Caitlyn who lay unconscious on the the ground. I felt tears stain my face as I thought of Thomas. Flashes of our parents being murdered infront of us flooded my memory, but suddenly there was a loud gunshot, and the knife fell to the ground. I looked up and saw Kaya holding onto her arm as it bled. I heard another shot and Ashton fell, clutching his leg. I looked to the end of the alley and saw two figures standing there, but they weren't Thomas and Dylan. I quickly hopped up and ran to Caitlyn as the 2 guys ran over to us. They knocked the three of them out and came over to me, I finally saw them in the light. It was Grant and Will.
"Ava, are you alright? What happened?" Grant asked kneeling next to Caitlyn and feeling for a pulse.
"I-I'm fine... they just jumped us... how did you find us?" I asked.
"Luck, I guess. I just glanced over and saw you being held up. But we need to hurry and get out of here before these three wake up..." he said. I nod my head as Will picked up Caitlyn.
"Wheres the apartment building?" He asked. Just down the street," I said leading the way. We walked quickly to the building and headed up the stairs. I knew that Thomas and Dylan would be home now, and they were probably freaking out. We made it to our floor and I ran to Thomas and Caitlyns apartment door, knocking eagerly. Thomas opened it, looking worried.
"Ava! Where have you been?" He looked over at Grant and Will, seeing Caitlyn unconscious. "What happened?" He asked running to her.
"I'll explain inside, we need to lay her down," I said. He quickly took her from Will and led us in the apartment, laying her down on the couch infront of the window.
"What happened?" Dylan asked, "Grant, Will, you're here so soon..."
"We packed up and caught a plane as fast as we could.. We were only in Paris," Will explained.
"Grant, are you still a doctor?" Thomas asked.
"Yeah, of course," he replied going over to Caitlyn. He pulled out a small flashlight and checked her eyes, before checking her pulse and looking at his watch. He took off his backpack and pulled out a stethoscope.
"Do you just carry that around with you?" Dylan asked.
"It comes in handy..." he defended, checking her heart beat. "Her pulse is... different. I need to run a few tests, but she seems fine. She just has a minor concussion. What happened to her anyway, Ava?" He asked as they all glanced at me.
"Michael hit her upside the head with his gun," I replied.
"Well that will definitely do it... I'll do a few blood tests just to be sure," he said looking at Thomas.
"Ok, but quickly..." he nod his head in response and pulled out a syringe.
"What else do you have in your stupid bag?" Dylan asked.
"Don't diss the bag dude..." he took the cap of the syringe and drew some blood. "It shouldn't take long. 3 hours at the most."
"OK, well if that's all... how do we wake Caitlyn up?" Thomas asked. Grant grabbed something from his bag and held it up
"Try this. Smelling salt. It's some strong stuff." Thomas grabbed it and kneeled next to Cait, opening the small vile and waving it under her nose. She began waking up. He handed it back to Grant and leaned forward as Caitlyn sat up.
"What happened?" She asked, grabbing her head.
"We were attacked by Nicks goons... you were knocked out, but Grant and Will showed up and stopped them," I said. She looked up at them.
"Thanks..." she continued to hold her head.
"Oh, right, here." Grant pulled it a bottle of pills and dumped out two. "Pain killers." He held them out to her.
"I'll get you a glass of water," Dylan said walking to the kitchen and quickly returning, handing her the glass. He turned and looked at Grant and Will. "You guys can stay upstairs in my apartment, its a bit bigger."
"Thanks, mate," Will said.
"Yeah, well, thanks for showing up at a moments notice."
"No problem, well we'd all better get some sleep, I need to start on this test, I'll bring you two the results in the morning," Grant said.
"Yeah, right ok..." Thomas said standing. The three guys quickly left.
"Ava, you should stay here tonight," Caitlyn said, standing, holding onto Thomas for Balance.
"What? No, Im fine really. Im just across the hall, if anything happens I'll just give out a nice shout yeah?"
"I don't know, Cait's right. I don't like the idea of you being alone..."
"It's just across the hall. I promise, I'll be fine.."
"Well if you're sure..." Caitlyn said glancing between my brother and I.
"Positive," I laughed.
"At least take this then," Thomas said, handing me a gun. "Keep it by you, and if we hear you scream or a shot, we'll know to haul ass..." I laughed slightly and took it from him.
"Fine, you dork. I'll take it. Goodnight."
"Goodnight," they said together as I walked out. I wouldn't need the stupid gun...
