I sat on the couch in the apartment, waiting for Thomas to call about Calum. He was supposed to report back a few hours ago and he hasn't. Thomas doesn't seem too worried about him, because earning Nicks trust is hard. It's going to take some time, and something very extreme. I was a bit worried, honestly.
Suddenly there was a knock on the front door. I stood up and walked silently forward, peeking out the peekhole to see who it was. I saw Britt standing there, looking around nervously. I unlocked the door and opened it.
"Britt, what's wrong?" I asked. She had tears streaming down her face.
"T-there were these men and they were following me and I started running and they started running and I don't know who they are or why they're following me. I didn't know where else to go, this was closest..."
"Come inside," I saidn stepping out of the way. After she walked in, I peeked into the hallway before closing the door. "What did these guys look like?" I asked, sitting next to her on the couch.
"There were 3 of them, one of them had black and white hair, the other two had lighter brown.. I think. I-I don't know." She looked out the window and gasped. "Th-that's them!" She said pointing. I looked out and across the street at the park where I saw Daniel standing with Michael and Ashton, glancing up. I quickly closed the curtain and stood up, going to the door and locking it again. "Caitlyn, what's going on? Who are they? Why were they following me?"
"I don't know," I said, picking uo my phone and starting to type Thomas's number in.
"Are you calling the cops?"
"No," I said, peeking back out the window as I hit call.
"Good," Britt replied. Suddenly I felt something hit the back of my head, and everything went black.
~~~
I heard voices around me. I couldn't move, couldn't talk. I opened my eyes slowly and saw the kicthen floor. I was tied to a chair and something was tied around my mouth. Why did this happen so often? Someone stopped infront on me and I closed my eyes quickly.
"Oy, I know you're awake," the menacing voice called out as he kicked my chair. I slowly looked up, making eye contact with Nick. "Well good morning there sunshine." He smirked, ripping the tape off my mouth.
"What do you want?" I spat.
"You always were the feisty one. I just wanted to let you know that we're onto you and your little group, and just to give you one last chance to back out, we're going to prove that we're serious about our threat."
"So what? You're going to kill me?" He laughed and brushed a peice of hair out of my face.
"No, not you... him." Suddenly someone pushed Luke down infront of me. He just looked between me and someone standing behind me. "We just needed one of you little freaks to witness the death of your friend." I heard a gun click from behind me and started freaking out a little.
"W-why are you doing this?" I asked, trying to think of something to say to stop them.
"We warned you. As long as you dont interfere, you're all safe. This is our little way of establishing who's really in charge." He looked at whoever was behind me and nodded. After slight hesitation, there was a gunshot. I screamed as Luke fell the the ground, bleeding from his chest. "This is your last warning, babe," Nick said, walking out.
"Luke, oh my god, can you hear me?" I asked, struggling to free myself. He wasn't breathing very well. I kicked over the chair, hearing it crack and pulled the back of it apart. Dylan taught me this trick years ago. I quickly untied my arms and kneeled next to Luke, putting pressure over his wound as I pulled my phone out and called Grant.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Grant, I-I need your help, please. Right now. It's an emergency, Luke's been shot," I cried.
"Waitn what?"
"Please, just come, quickly. We're at the apartmentn I'll explain when you get here but hurry, he's dying!"
"I'll be there as fast as I can, just, keep him awake and keep pressure on his wound." And with that he hung up.
"Stay with me, Luke. Please."
